Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Chief Marketing Officer to build and lead the marketing function from the ground up. The CMO will develop brand strategy, establish market positioning, drive customer acquisition, and create a comprehensive marketing ecosystem that supports the company's growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy and brand positioning
- Build a marketing team and establish marketing functions (demand generation, brand, content, partnerships)
- Develop an integrated go-to-market strategy for product launches
- Establish a marketing technology stack and automate processes
- Create and manage marketing budget; track ROI and attribution
- Lead brand development, messaging, and visual identity initiatives
- Develop and execute customer acquisition strategies across digital channels
- Manage content marketing, thought leadership, and PR initiatives
- Build and cultivate strategic partnerships and influencer relationships
- Oversee marketing analytics and reporting; establish key performance metrics
- Collaborate with Sales and Product teams for alignment and lead generation
- Manage investor relations and fundraising communications
- Represent the company at conferences, events, and media engagements
- Drive demand generation and lead quality optimisation
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of marketing experience, with 6+ years in CMO or VP Marketing roles
- Proven success building marketing organisations from scratch in B2B or B2C tech
- Strong background in digital marketing, growth marketing, and demand generation
- Experience with marketing automation, CRM, and analytics platforms
- Demonstrated expertise in brand building and positioning
- Strong content marketing and storytelling abilities
- Experience leading both organic and paid marketing initiatives
- Track record of driving customer acquisition at a favourable CAC
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Data-driven approach to decision making and optimisation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in AI, SaaS, enterprise software, or technology products
- Experience in the Indian startup ecosystem or scaling in India
- Familiarity with fundraising and investor communications
- Knowledge of innovative marketing channels and emerging platforms
- Previous high-growth startup experience (pre-Series C stage)
- Expertise in performance marketing and growth hacking
- Track record of building strong marketing teams
