The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be a visionary, data-led leader driving enterprise-wide marketing strategy to accelerate growth, acquisition, retention, and lifetime loyalty. As part of the executive leadership team, the CMO will unify brand equity across pharmacy, digital health, and insurance, while shaping public perception, building trust, and forging high-impact ecosystem partnerships. The role demands mastery of both physical and digital channels, deep understanding of the Indian healthcare consumer, and end-to-end ownership of Circle-the unified loyalty program.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Marketing & Brand Leadership:
- Govern all agency partnerships (creative, digital, media, event) to ensure brand alignment, cost efficiency, and performance KPIs.
- Lead a unified marketing strategy aligned with Apollo's business goals, ensuring sustainable growth across verticals.
- Build a powerful brand identity representing trust, accessibility, and innovation.
- Oversee category marketing for Prescription, OTC, FMCG, Generics, and Private Label, driving growth with category heads.
- Ensure consistent offline-online brand integration across all consumer touchpoints.
- Provide oversight of all core marketing functions-store marketing, digital, retail activation, CRM, call centre, insights, doctor connect, corporate marketing, marketplaces, and partnerships.
2. Retail Marketing & Market Activation:
- Lead national/regional campaigns using structured annual calendars and local events to drive footfall.
- Deliver impactful in-store experiences, from visual merchandising to health camps.
- Drive digital-to-store and store-to-digital engagement; replicate high-performing cluster models.
- Direct BTL campaigns for new store launches, AMC, FMCG, and Private Label promotions.
- Expand community engagement through neighbourhood health & wellness camps and in-store activations.
- Align with operations, regional heads, and category managers on BTL, branding, and seasonal promotions; drive ABV improvement and holiday sales loss mitigation.
3. CRM, Loyalty & Customer Experience:
- Lead hyper-personalization using CRM, AI, and ML to deliver relevant offers and services.
- Scale Apollo Circle into India's top healthcare membership program with seamless accrual/redemption and health-focused benefits.
- Ensure a consistent omnichannel experience; integrate WhatsApp-driven personalized offers into the loyalty program.
- Drive measurable improvements in acquisition, repeat purchases, and lifetime value.
4. Digital Marketing & Analytics:
- Lead SEO, SEM, social media, and targeted e-pharmacy promotions for visibility and conversion.
- Build a unified insights ecosystem to integrate online/offline data and map customer journeys.
- Implement advanced campaign measurement and attribution models to optimize ROI.
- Oversee GMB profile management, ORM, programmatic advertising, and WhatsApp-based engagement.
- Strengthen marketing automation with transactional and behavioral data insights.
5. Product, Service & Insurance Innovation:
- Co-create GTM strategies for new products, services, and categories with internal teams.
- Partner with insurers, diagnostic labs, and wellness providers for integrated propositions.
- Develop vernacular/tier-specific GTM for emerging markets.
- Strategically position health insurance offerings across retail and digital channels.
6. Leadership, Team Development & Budget Stewardship:
- Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team across strategy, analytics, content, CRM, and execution.
- Foster innovation, collaboration, and responsiveness to market shifts.
- Optimize and govern budgets to ensure measurable ROI.
7. Corporate, Institutional & Ecosystem Partnerships:
- Position online marketplace expansion as a growth channel.
- Build government and PSU partnerships for revenue and brand positioning.
- Develop integrated programs with insurers, payment gateways, healthcare providers, and marketplaces to unlock new revenue streams.
8. Doctor Connect & Prescription Growth:
- Link Doctor Connect outcomes directly to store-level prescription growth and chronic doctor coverage expansion.
9. Call Centre & PDPC:
- Strengthen call centre operations with KPIs on conversion, retention, and upselling.
- Integrate PDPC programs with pharmacy adoption to ensure long-term customer continuity.
10. Data-Driven Strategy & Performance:
- Use analytics to drive marketing ROI, ABV growth, and holiday sales loss recovery.
- Own marketing automation with accountability for campaign ROI measurement and optimization.
- Apply customer insights and competitive analysis to pricing, promotions, and product-market fit.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10-20 years in senior marketing roles, ideally in healthcare, retail, consumer tech, or insurance.
- Proven success in omnichannel marketing and integration of retail with digital health and e-commerce.
- Expertise in CRM, loyalty programs, and applying analytics, AI, and ML to deepen engagement.
- Deep understanding of Indian consumer behavior across segments and regions.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- MBA or equivalent from a reputed institution; international exposure preferred.
