Job Description :
The Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO) will lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across The Company's plant network, driving production efficiency, quality, capacity planning, and cost optimization to support the brand's rapid D2C and retail growth. This is a senior leadership role responsible for building scalable, world-class manufacturing capabilities across mattresses, furniture, and comfort products. The role reports directly to the Founder.
Key Responsibilities :
- Own overall manufacturing strategy, capacity planning, and plant operations across all facilities
- Drive production efficiency, throughput, and quality standards in line with growth targets
- Lead new plant setup, expansion, and capex planning as the company scales
- Build and manage manufacturing budgets, cost structures, and P&L accountability for plant operations
- Implement lean manufacturing, automation, and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and quality certifications (ISO, BIS, etc.)
- Oversee supply chain coordination with procurement, logistics, and inventory teams for raw material availability and finished goods dispatch
- Lead, mentor, and scale plant leadership teams (Plant Heads, Production Managers, Quality Managers)
- Partner with Product/R&D on new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturability
- Report manufacturing KPIs (OEE, yield, defect rates, cost per unit) to the Founder and leadership team
Requirements :
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior/CXO-level manufacturing role
- Proven experience scaling manufacturing operations in a high-growth D2C, FMCG, furniture, or consumer durables environment
- Strong track record in plant setup, capacity expansion, and multi-site operations management
- Deep expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence frameworks
- Experience managing large P&Ls and cross-functional teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills to work closely with the Founder, Finance, Supply Chain, and Product teams
- Engineering degree (Mechanical/Industrial/Production); MBA preferred
