Chief Manager - Sales Planning & Partner Management

Job Summary:

The role leads end to end sales planning, governance, and performance management to achieve AOP targets and drive channel productivity. It owns P&L oversight, ensuring revenue growth, cost control, and profitability improvement. The position also strengthens key partnerships, ensures full compliance with regulatory and audit standards, and delivers high quality MIS, analytics, and insights for leadership decision-making. Additionally, it enhances sales effectiveness through process optimization, tools, and enablement initiatives to improve conversion, reduce cycle time, and uplift overall sales performance.

Sustain a successful relationship with the partner, characterized by a high level of strategic alignment & tactical engagement in the life insurance business.

Incumbent should spearhead channel-level initiatives, manage ambiguity effectively, and work independently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Planning & Governance

- Drive annual operating plan (AOP), sales forecasting, target setting, and productivity planning across channels.

- Establish strong governance rhythm through structured reviews, dashboards, incentive alignment, and performance tracking.

- Ensure monthly/daily governance cadence adherence

2. Bank Partners Pay-out and Remuneration Management

- Ensure pay-outs are in line with bank agreements and policies.

- Reconcile payouts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Ensure partner payouts remain within budget.

- Ensure timely closure and proper documentation for all payouts.

3. Bank Partners Requirement Fulfilment

- Serve as the primary point of contact for banks regarding MIS and reporting requirements.

- Assist bank partners in submitting regulatory data in alignment with internal stakeholders.

- Ensure all reports/MIS are published to banks according to the agreed timeline.

- Address ad-hoc requests and additional reporting requirements as needed.

4. P&L and Cost Management

- Own channel-level P&L including revenue, cost ratios, commissions, persistency impact, and profitability improvement.

- Improvements in VNB and contribution margins

- Cost to income ratios with planned thresholds

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Product teams to meet all partner requirements.

- Align and close internal FWG action items in a timely manner.

6. Business Process Management and Internal Audit/Compliance Requirement Fulfilment

- Manage business processes and ensure adherence to internal audit and compliance requirements.

7. Partnership Deepening & Relationship management

- Strengthen existing GCL partnerships and drive new strategic tie-ups by Liaoning with BD teams.

- Growth in business from existing partners by increasing wallet share
