Job Title: Chief Manager Payroll & Payables

Location: Mumbai (Churchgate)

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to lead payroll, ESOP, and reimbursement processes for a reputed organization in the financial services sector. The role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to process excellence, compliance, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations in coordination with external vendors.

- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance related to payroll, PF, gratuity, and taxation.

- Handle employee payroll queries and reconciliations.

ESOP Accounting & Administration:

- Manage complete ESOP lifecycle grants, vesting, exercises, and exits.

- Maintain records and ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory guidelines.

Reimbursement Oversight:

- Supervise processing of employee reimbursements with policy adherence and timely payouts.

- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate workflows.

MIS & Financial Reporting:

- Prepare detailed MIS reports and dashboards related to payroll, reimbursements, and rewards.

- Support the finance team in budgeting, forecasting, and analytics.

Compliance & Audit Support:

- Ensure accuracy of financial operations and documentation for audits.

- Implement audit recommendations and maintain high governance standards.

Process Improvement & Automation:

- Drive efficiency through use of ERP/HRMS tools, analytics, and technology upgrades.

- Stay abreast of best practices in payroll and financial management.

Key Requirements:

- 1315 years of relevant experience in payroll, ESOP administration, and finance operations.

- Prior exposure to BFSI / financial services domain preferred.

- Strong understanding of statutory compliance, accounting principles, and financial controls.

- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / HRMS).

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to lead a small team.
