Role Overview:
The Chief Impact Officer will lead the organisations global Impact operations across Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. This is a senior leadership role responsible for designing, scaling, and overseeing community-based public health programs while ensuring financial sustainability, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes.
Operating within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial health enterprise, the role balances hands-on execution with strategic leadership. The Chief Impact Officer will oversee both internally funded access programs and externally funded partner initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams, donors, corporates, and regional leadership to deliver scalable health impact in low-resource settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Impact Strategy & Oversight:
- Lead the design, management, and evaluation of impact campaigns across multiple geographies
- Oversee both internal initiatives and external partner-funded programs
- Align regional programs with global strategy to ensure scalable and sustainable impact
Business Development & Fundraising:
- Build and manage relationships with donors, foundations, multilaterals, corporates, and CSR funders
- Lead funding proposals, impact models, and partnership frameworks
- Develop long-term funding pipelines to support impact growth
Strategic Projects & Innovation:
- Support digital, data, and insight-led initiatives embedded within impact operations
- Identify and collaborate with third-party innovators to strengthen program delivery
Team Leadership & Cross-Regional Management:
- Lead and manage regional teams across Africa, India, and Southeast Asia
- Build a strong performance culture with clear KPIs and OKRs
- Enable collaboration and operational consistency across markets
Financial & Operational Management:
- Own the P&L for all impact programs
- Ensure strong financial controls, cost efficiency, and accountability
- Oversee hiring, people management, and operational execution
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning:
- Implement and strengthen impact measurement frameworks
- Use program data to drive learning, decision-making, and continuous improvement
External Representation & Brand Building:
- Represent the organisation at conferences, donor forums, and industry platforms
- Strengthen thought leadership and external credibility in the global health ecosystem
Were looking for someone who brings:
- 15+ years of experience in public health or related fields, with senior leadership exposure
- Experience across Africa and/or India, ideally in multi-country roles
- Strong grounding in community health systems, CHWs, and grassroots public health delivery
- Exposure to private-sector health delivery, innovation, or social marketing
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in lean, fast-moving environments
- Experience managing large-scale programs and owning budgets/P&L
- Willingness to travel frequently across regions (up to 50%)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A deep commitment to health equity and access in low-resource settings
