Role Summary: - One of our clients is a leading NBFC and part of a professionally managed reputed industrial group in the south. They are currently on the look out for Chief Financial Officer (CFO). - As a key member of the Management team, the incumbent is expected to assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Institution. The CFO role has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, costing, legal and property management, analysis and negotiations, as well as effective stakeholder management. - The Chief Financial Officer advises the Senior Management on all matters pertaining to the financial management and operations of the Institution and is also expected to assist in promoting a customer-oriented service attitude at the same time ensuring adequate control and oversight on the assets of the Institution Key Job Responsibilities: - Promote the financial well-being of the Institution by providing innovative and compliant financial management, monitoring processes and ensuring an effective control over Institution's transactions, and safeguarding all financial assets of the Institution / Group. - Advises the Management on issues relating to the financial status of the Institution, reporting financial information on a regular basis, and by preparing reports, recommendations, findings, and other correspondence as required. - Helps to ensure achievement of the goals and objectives of the Institution by overseeing the preparation of internal budgets using budget models to project future revenue and following established policies for expenditures. - Ensures compliance with professional accounting standards, rules, regulations, and laws by directing, supervising, and facilitating the preparation and maintenance of required and appropriate financial records, monthly, periodic and annual financial reports, and all other financial reporting as may be required by Central, state, local agencies, or established accounting standards. - Facilitates the governance of the Institution by providing financial information to the Management and implementing Management's decisions through the establishment of policies, procedures, and guidelines. - Co-ordinates and ensure successful completion of Internal, Statutory and any other regulatory audits in a timely and structured manner. - Ensures compliance with the institutional mission by working closely with various unit managers to develop and review unit plans, goals, and objectives, assuring development of effective business processes incorporating automation with appropriate technologies, designing systems of effective controls to guide work toward expected outcomes, and evaluating progress towards their accomplishment. - Ensures that the Finance function has the resources necessary to provide financial information to support the Institution such as preparation of financial reports and the development of appropriate funding and cost recovery models that support innovation and growth. - Ensure that effective Risk Management & Mitigation plans are implemented and kept effective on a continuous basis. - Enable Institution employees to perform their assigned tasks by guiding and regularly advising on the preparation and implementation of the strategy of the Institution. - Remain competent and relevant by keeping abreast of changes in the regulatory requirements as applicable to the operations, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as appropriate. - Ensure that miscellaneous assignments related to the day-to-day functioning are completed in the best interests of the Institution and accomplishing all other tasks as may be assigned. Candidate specifications: - A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent. - Master's degree preferred. - Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is a must - Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets. - Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills. - Extensive financial and controllership experience in a mid to large sized entity. - Experience in an institution / Knowledge of higher education sector is desirable. - Minimum 10 years- experience in accounting and financial management practices preferably from NBFC / Financial Services - Experience in a senior management position.
