Chief Financial Officer - Mid Market Private Equity

Role Overview:

A leading India-focused private equity investment firm is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead finance, fund operations, regulatory compliance, taxation, investor reporting, and portfolio finance oversight. The role will partner closely with senior leadership on fund formation, fundraising, governance, and strategic initiatives while building institutional-grade finance processes to support future fund growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead finance, fund accounting, treasury, taxation, and financial control across the management company and investment vehicles.

- Drive the finance workstream for new fund launches, including fund structuring, regulatory coordination, and operational readiness.

- Oversee investor reporting, capital calls, distributions, management fee accounting, and fundraising support.

- Partner with the investment team on portfolio valuations, financial performance monitoring, and exit planning.

- Ensure compliance with SEBI Alternative Investment Fund regulations, statutory requirements, audits, and governance standards.

- Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, supporting business growth, institutionalisation, and long-term financial strategy.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Chartered Accountant with 15-20 years of post-qualification experience.

- Proven experience in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Alternative Investment Funds, or Asset Management.

- Strong expertise in fund accounting, fund operations, taxation, investor reporting, regulatory compliance, and portfolio finance.

- Hands-on experience working with institutional investors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

- Deep understanding of SEBI Alternative Investment Fund regulations and Indian fund structures.

- Willing to work onsite from Mumbai.
