Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Mumbai/Navi Mumbai
Reports To: Managing Director / Board of Directors
Role Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and management. The role requires strong leadership in financial governance, compliance, cost control, and strategic decision-making to support sustainable growth in marine services, offshore operations, and related maritime activities. The CFO will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team, ensuring financial discipline while enabling operational efficiency and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute the companys financial strategy aligned with short-term and long-term business goals.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the Board and senior management for business planning and growth initiatives.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and expansion into new marine or offshore service segments.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling for marine operations and projects.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure, particularly for vessels, equipment, and marine assets.
- Analyse project profitability, contract margins, and operational costs.
Accounting & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Oversee audits, taxation, regulatory filings, and compliance with maritime, corporate, and financial regulations.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks.
Treasury & Funding:
- Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, and credit facilities.
- Plan and optimize capital structure, debt management, and funding for fleet acquisition or upgrades.
- Oversee foreign exchange exposure, insurance, and risk mitigation related to marine operations.
Cost Control & Operational Support:
- Implement cost optimization initiatives across marine services, logistics, and support functions.
- Work closely with operations, procurement, and project teams to improve efficiency and financial discipline.
- Evaluate vendor contracts, charter agreements, and long-term service contracts.
Team & Systems Management:
- Lead and develop the finance and accounts team.
- Drive improvements in financial systems, ERP, reporting tools, and digital transformation.
- Establish robust financial reporting and MIS for management decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CFA, or MBA in Finance (preferred).
- Minimum 15-20 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in marine services, shipping, offshore, logistics, heavy industries, infrastructure, or project-based industries is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, taxation, compliance, and financial regulations.
- Proven ability to work with Boards, investors, banks, and auditors.
