Chief Financial Officer - Food/FMCG Sector

Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on CFO to lead all financial, accounting, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial control, fundraising, compliance, and scaling startups, particularly in the food or FMCG sector. You will be a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO/founders, and will play a pivotal role in shaping the companys growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Control

- Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

- Implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures.

- Monitor KPIs, cost structures, and working capital to optimize financial performance.

- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and management dashboards.

Fundraising & Investor Management

- Lead fundraising initiatives and manage investor relationships and communications.

- Prepare financial models, projections, and reports for investors.

- Drive capital structuring and financial strategy to support growth.

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (GST, Income Tax, Labor Laws, Companies Act, etc.).

- Manage internal and external audits and liaise with tax advisors.

- Implement strong corporate governance practices suitable for a high-growth startup.

Strategic Planning & Business Partnering

- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO/founders for business planning, expansion strategies, and growth initiatives.

- Provide financial insights to guide decision-making across operations, marketing, and supply chain.

- Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions from a financial perspective.

Team Leadership

- Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.

- Drive adoption of digital finance tools and ERP systems for efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications & Experience

- Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA Finance / CPA or equivalent.

- 1015+ years of experience, preferably with:

- Startups / high-growth companies

- Food manufacturing, FMCG, or consumer products

- Fundraising experience

- Strong expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance.

- Hands-on experience with ERP/finance systems (Tally, SAP, Oracle, Zoho, QuickBooks, etc.).

- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
