Role : CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
About the Opportunity :
A leading Hyderabad-based educational solutions group with over 75 years of legacy is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead group-wide financial strategy, governance, and operational excellence. The group operates across textbook and educational material distribution, curriculum design, academic consulting, retail operations, and corporate solutions, serving schools across multiple curricula and states, with aggressive nationwide expansion plans.
This is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to the MD and CEO, requiring a finance executive who combines deep technical expertise with business partnership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Finance and Leadership :
- Develop and execute group-wide corporate financial strategy aligned with 3 to 5 year scaling objectives
- Partner with MD and CEO and business heads on strategic planning, capital structuring, and growth initiatives
- Provide predictive financial analytics and high-level insights to support executive decision-making
- Advise senior management on debt management and cash flow optimisation strategies
Financial Planning and Analysis :
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across multiple business entities
- Drive profitability analysis by business unit, product category, customer segment, and channel
- Ensure robust management reporting, automated KPI dashboards, and variance analysis
- Maintain strategic oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and treasury
Compliance, Taxation and Audit :
- Ensure full statutory compliance like Income Tax, GST, TDS, Companies Act, and applicable regulations
- Manage external auditors and ensure clean and timely statutory audit processes
- Oversee internal audit function and strengthen financial controls
Working Capital and Cash Flow Management :
- Optimise cash flow, high-volume inventory, receivables, and payables across all entities
- Improve working capital efficiency and liquidity planning to support scaling operations
- Manage banking relationships, treasury activities, and funding requirements
Team Leadership and Transformation :
- Build and mentor a modern finance team incorporating automation, AI, and ERP workflows
- Foster a culture of financial accountability, high performance, and data driven decision making
What We Are Looking For :
- CA is mandatory
- 15+ years of progressive corporate finance experience with 3 to 5 years in a senior CFO or equivalent role
- Deep expertise in ERP systems - SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
- Expert-level understanding of complex inventory valuation, corporate tax, marketplace reconciliation, and data analytics
- Executive presence with strong communication, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills
