Chief Financial Officer - eCommerce

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to spearhead the finance function of a high-growth startup/e-commerce enterprise poised for rapid scale and market leadership.

This is a pivotal leadership role that demands a strategic thinker, dynamic executor, and trusted partner to the Board & CEO. The ideal candidate will combine financial acumen with entrepreneurial spirit, bringing proven expertise across Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Fundraising, Capital Markets, IPO Readiness, and Financial Controllership.

The CFO will serve as the architect of financial strategy, ensuring robust governance while enabling innovation, agility, and exponential business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Investor Relations

- Orchestrate and lead equity and debt fundraising initiatives across venture capital, private equity, institutional investors, and banking networks.

- Establish and nurture long-term investor relationships, positioning the company as a trusted growth partner.

- Develop and execute capital allocation strategies to maximize ROI, ensure liquidity, and fuel hyper-growth.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) & Strategic Investments

- Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic M&A opportunities with rigorous due diligence and deal structuring.

- Drive post-merger integration, ensuring cultural alignment and delivery of anticipated synergies.

- Negotiate strategic investments and alliances to strengthen the companys competitive edge.

IPO Readiness & Compliance

- Lead IPO planning and execution in compliance with SEBI regulations and international standards.

- Partner with investment bankers, legal advisors, and auditors to deliver a seamless IPO journey.

- Champion corporate governance, transparency, and world-class investor communications.

Financial Leadership & Controllership

- Steer long-term financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting aligned with business ambitions.

- Implement robust internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management systems.

- Oversee cash flow optimization, working capital management, and precision reporting to enable sustainable growth.

Key Qualifications & Experience

- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory

- 14+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance, ideally in startups, e-commerce, fintech, or high-growth sectors.

- Proven expertise in fundraising (VCs, PEs, IPOs), M&A, and financial strategy.

- Strong command of Indian financial regulations, SEBI norms, corporate governance, and global accounting frameworks.

- Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation skills, and boardroom presence.
