Description: Job Description Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Mumbai

Company: A leading listed Consumer Durables company in India

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Chief Financial Officer to partner with the CEO and Board in driving the next phase of growth, profitability, and value creation.

The CFO will be responsible for end-to-end financial leadership, including capital allocation, investor engagement, governance, and business partnering across functions. The role requires a balance of strategic foresight and operational rigor, with strong exposure to listed company environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Finance & Business Partnering:

- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute long-term business strategy and growth roadmap

- Drive annual operating plans, 35 year strategic plans, and performance tracking frameworks

- Provide actionable insights on margin expansion, pricing, product mix, and channel profitability

- Evaluate new business opportunities, adjacencies, and strategic initiatives

2. Financial Planning, Control & Performance Management:

- Lead FP&A, MIS, and performance analytics across business units

- Ensure robust budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis frameworks

- Drive cost optimisation, working capital efficiency, and cash flow management

- Oversee financial reporting in compliance with Ind-AS, SEBI regulations, and listing requirements

3. Capital Markets, Investor Relations & Fundraising:

- Act as the primary interface with investors, analysts, rating agencies, and financial institutions

- Lead earnings calls, investor presentations, and board reporting

- Drive capital structure optimisation, including debt and equity strategies

- Evaluate and execute fundraising, refinancing, and treasury initiatives

4. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure adherence to SEBI, stock exchange, and statutory regulations

- Lead interactions with the Audit Committee and Board of Directors

- Strengthen internal controls, risk management frameworks, and governance processes

- Oversee legal, tax, secretarial, and compliance functions

5. M&A, Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Development:

- Identify and evaluate M&A opportunities, partnerships, and inorganic growth initiatives

- Lead due diligence, valuation, structuring, and post-merger integration

- Support strategic alliances and joint ventures to accelerate growth

6. Business Operations & Cross-Functional Leadership:

- Partner closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Marketing

- Drive ROI-led decision making across:

i. Distribution expansion

ii. Channel investments

iii. Inventory and procurement

- Enable scalability through systems, processes, and digital transformation initiatives

7. Leadership & Team Development:

- Build and lead a high-performing finance organisation across:

i. FP&A

ii. Treasury

iii. Controllership

iv. Commercial finance

- Foster a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement

Candidate Profile:

Experience:

- 20+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5 - 10 years in a CFO / senior finance leadership role

- Proven experience in a listed company environment

- Strong exposure to consumer, retail, FMCG, or consumer durable sectors

- Demonstrated track record in:

i. Investor relations

ii. Capital markets

iii. Business partnering

iv. Scaling organizations

Core Competencies:

- Strategic thinking with strong business acumen

- Deep understanding of financial markets, capital structuring, and governance

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

- Ability to operate effectively in a promoter-driven yet professionally managed environment

- High level of integrity, ownership, and leadership maturity

Education:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) - First Attempt

- Additional qualifications (CFA, global exposure) preferred
