About the Client

A high-growth, founder-led consumer business, backed by leading institutional investors, is entering a pivotal phase of scale. We are looking to onboard a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive the next phase of growth, profitability, and value creation.

Role Overview

This is a strategic and business-facing CFO role, positioned at the intersection of Finance, Strategy, and Operations. The mandate goes beyond traditional finance-focusing on revenue acceleration, margin expansion, and enterprise value creation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Value Creation

- Act as a trusted partner to the CEO and Board on business strategy and capital allocation

- Drive long-term value creation, balancing growth with profitability and capital efficiency

- Support investor engagement, fundraising, and strategic initiatives

2. Business Finance & Performance Ownership

- Own end-to-end financial and business performance

- Partner with business leaders on category, channel, and customer profitability

- Translate strategic priorities into measurable financial outcomes

-Lead pricing strategy, discount optimization, and channel profitability

3. Revenue & Margin Enhancement

- Lead pricing strategy, discount optimization, and channel profitability

- Drive improvements in unit economics, gross margins, and contribution margins

- Identify and unlock new revenue streams and monetization levers

4. Strategic Operations Integration

- Work closely with supply chain, sales, and marketing to improve efficiency

- Drive cost optimization and operational leverage

- Strengthen inventory management and working capital cycles

5. Financial Planning & Analytics

- Lead annual operating plan, budgeting, and rolling forecasts

- Build robust MIS, dashboards, and real-time decision support systems

- Institutionalize data-driven performance reviews and variance analysis

6. Governance & Controls

- Establish strong financial controls, audit frameworks, and compliance processes

- Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements

- Build scalable systems to support rapid growth

7. Team Leadership

- Build and lead a high-performing finance organization

- Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, and performance

- Act as a thought partner across the leadership team

Candidate Profile

- 15-25 years of experience across business finance, FP&A, and strategic roles

- Prior experience in consumer, retail, or D2C businesses preferred

- Exposure to garment/apparel industry is a plus

- Proven track record of driving growth, profitability, and transformation

- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence business decisions

- Experience working with founders and institutional investors

Education

- CA / MBA from a premier institution preferred

- CFA / CPA or equivalent qualifications are an advantage
