Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Job Description

Job Title Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Reports To Promoter & Managing Director

Location Sahibabad/Noida, Uttar Pradesh (Corporate Office)

Company Manufacturing (Powder Coatings, Masterbatches & Polymers)

1. Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be the principal financial and strategic leader reporting directly to the Managing Director.

This role requires an entrepreneurial, forward-thinking CA professional who can translate a progressive business vision into a robust financial roadmap. The CFO will be responsible for ensuring financial health, driving operational excellence across the Sahibabad and Noida plants, managing global financial risks, and providing the data-driven insights necessary for the MD to make superior strategic decisions.

2. Key Roles and Responsibilities

A. Strategic Financial Leadership & Partnership

- Strategic Partner to the MD: Partner directly with the Kellogg-educated MD on all major strategic initiatives, including market expansion (domestic and international), new product line launches (Polymers/Masterbatches), and capital investment planning.

- FP&A & Strategic Modeling: Lead advanced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). Develop sophisticated financial models, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning (e.g., raw material price volatility, forex shifts) to guide proactive decision-making.

- Capital Allocation: Rigorously evaluate and recommend high-ROI capital expenditures (CapEx) for plant and technology upgrades, aligning investment with the company's long-term growth and efficiency goals.

- Performance Management: Define, track, and report on key financial and non-financial KPIs (e.g., Gross Margin by SKU/Plant, Inventory Turnover, ROIC) to drive a culture of high performance and accountability.

B. Manufacturing & Operational Finance Excellence

- Costing & Profitability: Implement and enhance world-class Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and Standard Costing systems to achieve granular visibility into the cost of goods sold (COGS) at the Sahibabad and Noida plants.

- Margin Optimization: Spearhead continuous cost reduction and process efficiency initiatives in collaboration with Operations (COO/Plant Heads) to improve conversion costs and maximize gross margins.

- Working Capital & Inventory: Aggressively manage and optimize the working capital cycle, with a keen focus on reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and optimizing inventory levels without disrupting manufacturing flow.

C. Treasury, Risk Management & International Finance

- Forex & Commodity Hedging: Given the company's export house status and reliance on raw materials, develop and execute sophisticated hedging strategies to mitigate currency and commodity price volatility risk.

- Cash Flow Management: Oversee all treasury functions, including banking relationships, optimizing cash flow forecasting, and ensuring adequate liquidity for growth initiatives.

- Fundraising: Lead efforts for structured debt financing, exploring other capital sources, and managing banking/investor relations to secure funds for expansion.

D. Financial Reporting & Governance (Indian & Global Standards)

- Compliance: Ensure absolute adherence to all Indian statutory laws, including the Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).

- Reporting Integrity: Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of all financial statements, management reports, and board presentations, adopting international best practices for transparency.

- Technology & Control: Drive the effective utilization of the ERP system to automate financial processes, improve internal controls, and ensure data integrity and audit readiness.

3. Profile & Qualifications

A. Education & Certification

- Mandatory: Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

- Highly Preferred: Additional relevant qualification such as CMA, CFA, or an MBA in Finance.

B. Experience

- Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (CFO/Finance Director) in a mid-to-large scale manufacturing or chemical process industry.

- Proven track record in a multi-plant/multi-product environment, demonstrating expertise in Cost Accounting, Operational Finance, and Gross Margin enhancement.

- Significant experience in managing Forex risk, international trade finance, and liaising with global distributors/customers.

C. Required Competencies

- Strategic Acumen: The ability to move beyond traditional accounting to provide strategic direction, aligning finance with the commercial vision of a progressive MD.

- Data Literacy: Deep comfort with financial technology, business intelligence tools, and using data to challenge assumptions and drive operational change.

- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly to the Board, the MD, and non-finance department heads.

- Integrity & Leadership: Highest standards of ethics, personal integrity, and the ability to mentor and develop a modern finance function.
