Key Responsibilities:
1. Post-Acquisition Integration & Finance Transformation:
- Lead end-to-end financial integration including systems, processes, policies, and reporting structures
- Align accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting standards with Japan HQ requirements
- Standardize finance processes across entities including closing, reporting, and compliance
- Drive ERP alignment, reporting automation, and process harmonization initiatives
- Establish a unified chart of accounts and reporting framework for India operations
2. Financial Controllership & Governance:
- Oversee financial reporting, monthly/quarterly close, and consolidation across entities
- Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, tax regulations, and group reporting standards
- Strengthen internal controls, audit readiness, and governance frameworks
- Manage statutory, internal, and group audits and ensure timely closure
- Establish financial policies, SOPs, and approval matrices aligned with group governance
3. Business Partnering & Strategic Support:
- Partner closely with the India MD and leadership team on financial planning and decision-making
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking across entities
- Provide commercial insights on cost optimization, margins, and operational efficiency
- Support business expansion, capex planning, and investment decisions
- Build dashboards and MIS for leadership and Japan HQ reporting
4. Stakeholder & Cross-Border Coordination:
- Act as the primary finance interface between India and Japan HQ
- Manage group reporting requirements, board reporting, and leadership reviews
- Coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and external consultants
- Work closely with legal, HR, and operations teams on governance and integration matters
- Support implementation of Japanese governance, approval, and reporting structures
5. Team Leadership & Capability Building:
- Build and lead a strong finance controllership team across entities
- Drive capability building, role clarity, and performance management within finance
- Establish structured review mechanisms and reporting discipline
- Create scalable processes to support future growth and acquisitions
Candidate Profile:
- Chartered Accountant with 18+ years of experience
- Strong experience as CFO / Finance Controller / Head of Finance in a multinational or multi-entity environment (preferably Japanese)
- Proven track record in post-acquisition integration, financial governance, and controllership
- Experience working with global HQs (Japanese or other international stakeholders preferred)
- Deep understanding of Indian regulatory, tax, and compliance frameworks
- Hands-on leader comfortable in a build-and-integrate environment
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors preferred
