Chief Financial Officer - CA

Hiring: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Chennai

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

Experience: 15-20 years

Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned finance leader with strong experience in engineering services, EPC, or oil & gas / energy sectors, particularly within project-driven business environments.

The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution, with the ability to manage finance operations while partnering closely with business leaders and the CEO.

This role requires someone comfortable working in globally oriented organizations, managing cross-border teams, and driving financial governance across geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Lead end-to-end finance operations, including controllership, reporting, and compliance

2) Drive commercial and project finance, including evaluation of project economics and contracts

3) Partner with leadership on strategic decision-making and growth initiatives (geo expansion)

4) Manage treasury, working capital, banking relationships, and funding strategies

5) Strengthen financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management

6) Ensure strong governance, audit, and risk management frameworks

7) Build and scale a robust finance function aligned with business growth

Key Requirements:

1) 15-20 years of progressive finance leadership experience

2) Background in engineering / EPC / energy / project-based industries

3) Experience managing full finance function and leading teams

4) Exposure to international operations and global stakeholders

5) Experience in corporate finance activities (including M&A)

Skills:

1) Strong controllership and governance expertise

2) Deep understanding of project & commercial finance

3) Expertise in FP&A, budgeting, and reporting

4) Strong treasury and working capital management experience

5) Excellent stakeholder management and cross-cultural collaboration

MUST Have:

1) Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) (mandatory) CFA / MBA (Finance) or international certifications (preferred)

2) Strong knowledge of IFRS / UK GAAP

3) Accounting experience in an operating entity

4) Strong project & commercial finance exposure

5) Experience in geographical expansion

6) Expertise in treasury, working capital & banking management

7) Industry experience in energy / engineering / EPC

8) Exposure to corporate finance / M&A
