Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


Location: Mumbai | Hybrid | Full-Time


Seeking a strategic and visionary finance leader to join a mission-driven organization operating at the intersection of climate innovation, financial inclusion, and clean energy solutions. As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will drive comprehensive financial strategy, operational excellence, and governance while serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board.


Key Responsibilities:


- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to drive business strategy.


- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability and optimize resource allocation across the departments.


- Develop and maintain financial models for evaluating business performance, new initiatives, and impact projects.


- Mentor and lead a high-performing finance team to drive annual business plans with department heads and senior management, long-term strategic initiatives, and operational improvements, fostering accountability, capability building and cross-functional collaboration.


- Oversee accurate and compliant financial reporting function across entities aligned with Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP and other applicable standards.


- Ensures planning, monitoring and management of MEC Corps (and its subsidiaries) financial resources using sophisticated financial planning and modelling software and tools.


- Provide financial insights to leadership on performance, risk, financial planning and strategic direction.


- Present key financial updates and budgets to the Board and relevant committees.


- Oversee internal audit processes, ensuring timely execution, coordination with outsourced/internal auditors, and implementation of recommendations.


- Ensure effective tax planning and full compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations across different countries.


- Drive ERP implementation and automation of financial systems across divisions to enhance data integrity and operational efficiency.


- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.


Must-Have Qualifications:


- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.


- 12+ years of experience in finance, with 5+ years in senior finance leadership.


- Strong financial modelling and strategic analysis capabilities.


- Advanced Excel proficiency.


- Strategic mindset with exceptional attention to detail.


Good to Have:


- Familiarity with carbon credit mechanisms, carbon offset markets, compliance vs voluntary markets, and project financing models.
