Roles and Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Capital Management

- Drive long-term financial strategy aligned with the business model of a retail brokerage

- Lead capital planning, allocation, and scenario modeling for product expansion and risk mitigation.

- Provide financial insights to support new offerings like derivatives, margin funding, and proprietary trading.

- Ensure sustained financial health with an emphasis on transaction volumes and regulatory capital requirements

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

- Ensure full compliance with SEBI, NSE, BSE, CDSL/NSDL, and other regulatory frameworks

- Serve as the senior liaison with regulators, exchanges, depositories, statutory auditors, and inspection teams

- Interpret and implement regulatory circulars and broker guidelines to mitigate compliance risks

- Oversee company-wide adherence to governance standards and regulatory protocols

Brokerage Finance & Reporting

- Supervise core financial operations including client fund segregation, margin requirement tracking, and capital adequacy reporting.

- Oversee timely and accurate FRR submissions and other broker-specific financial statements

- Maintain accurate computation and reporting of net worth and liquidity as per exchange norms

- Drive accuracy in revenue recognition, brokerage accounting, and fund flow reporting

Risk Management & Controls

- Design and monitor internal controls to safeguard client funds, proprietary assets, and cash flows

- Lead readiness for internal, SEBI, and exchange audits through strong documentation and compliance practices

- Implement tools for real-time monitoring of regulatory KPIs and exposure limits

- Evaluate and manage financial risks related to market volatility and operational dependencies

Technology & Process Integration

- Collaborate with product and tech teams to align finance systems with trading and back-office platforms

- Lead automation initiatives in reporting, reconciliations, and compliance workflows

- Ensure financial and compliance controls are system-embedded to prevent leakage and process gaps

Leadership & Stakeholder Communication

- Build and lead a high-performance finance and compliance team with a focus on accountability and agility

- Promote financial discipline and regulatory awareness across business functions

- Engage with the Board and investors through structured reporting on financial metrics and regulatory posture.

- Manage strategic relationships with external stakeholders including banks, rating agencies, and compliance vendors

Requirements

Qualifications:

- CA with 1525 years of experience, including prior CFO/Head of Finance role in a SEBI-regulated retail broking firm

- Strong expertise in financial strategy, capital markets, and regulatory financial planning within brokerage operations

- In-depth knowledge of SEBI, NSE, BSE, and depository compliance norms; hands-on experience with inspections and audits

- Proven ability to manage financial operations including client fund segregation, capital adequacy, and brokerage reporting

- Track record of implementing risk controls, audit readiness, and finance-tech automation in trading environments

- Effective leadership, stakeholder management, and board-level communication skills in high-growth financial settings
