Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in venture capital or private equity fund accounting, with hands-on experience working with US accounting standards and Delaware-incorporated fund structures.

The role is based in Bengaluru and will work with a US-facing fund structure and investor base.

Responsibilities:

- Finance & Accounting: Lead and oversee the finance and accounting function across the fund, management company, GP and other relevant entities. Review monthly accounting packages prepared by the fund administrator and ensure accurate and timely record keeping.

- US Accounting & Fund Structures: Oversee accounting and financial reporting for Delaware incorporated fund entities and ensure appropriate treatment of US fund structures, investment transactions and related accounting matters.

- Audits & Portfolio Valuation: Manage year-end audits and coordinate periodic portfolio company valuations, working closely with auditors, fund administrators and other external advisors.

- Financial & Investor Reporting: Own internal and external financial reporting, including cash flow reporting, investor reporting, investment valuations, NAV calculations, IRR and K-1 related reporting. Support preparation of materials for investor and board meetings and respond to investor queries.

- Portfolio & Investment Support: Review and support the financial aspects of investment purchases, follow-on investments and disposals. Provide finance and accounting support to portfolio companies on an as-needed basis.

- Fund Administration: Oversee capital call and distribution calculations, investor capital accounts, fund and management company bank accounts, and maintenance of fund-related documentation.

- Taxation: Act as the primary point of contact with US and other relevant tax advisors. Oversee tax compliance, filings, tax reporting and matters relating to the fund's tax structure.

- Compliance & Risk Management: Establish and maintain appropriate finance, compliance and risk management processes across the fund and its entities. Coordinate regulatory, AML/KYC, investor due diligence and other applicable compliance requirements with external advisors.

- Treasury & Cash Management: Oversee fund and management company cash management, banking relationships, payments, capital calls, distributions and liquidity planning.

- Operations & Administration: Support the General Partner on broader finance and administrative matters and help build efficient processes and systems as the firm scales.

- External Relationships: Manage relationships with auditors, fund administrators, banks, tax consultants, legal advisors and other external service providers.

- Team & Process Building: Build and improve finance processes, controls, reporting systems and operating infrastructure appropriate for a growing venture capital platform.

Requirements:

- 4 - 6 years of experience in finance, accounting or fund operations, ideally with significant experience in Venture Capital / Private Equity fund accounting.

- Strong hands-on experience with US accounting and reporting, preferably including US GAAP and Delaware-incorporated fund structures.

- Experience working with fund administrators and managing external auditors, tax advisors, banks and other professional service providers.

- Strong understanding of investment transactions, fund structures, capital calls, distributions, investor capital accounts, NAV, portfolio valuations and fund-level reporting.

- Experience with US tax reporting and K-1 processes, or the ability to confidently manage these processes with external tax advisors.

- CA, CPA, MBA in Finance, or a relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with investors, fund managers, auditors, administrators and other external stakeholders.

- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to build processes from the ground up rather than simply operate existing systems.

- Comfort working with a US-based fund and collaborating across US and India time zones.
