Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function of our manufacturing organization in India. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant with 20+ years of experience and deep expertise in Indian financial regulations, taxation, and manufacturing finance. The CFO will play a critical role in driving financial strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting business growth in a complex and evolving regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy & Business Partnership:
- Drive financial strategy aligned with organizational goals and growth plans
- Partner with the CEO/MD and leadership team on business expansion, capex planning, and investments
- Provide strategic insights using financial data, analytics, and scenario planning
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & MIS:
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial planning
- Ensure robust MIS reporting with actionable insights for decision-making
- Monitor performance against budgets and drive variance analysis
3. Manufacturing & Cost Accounting:
- Oversee cost accounting systems, including product costing, standard costing, and variance analysis
- Monitor plant-level finance, inventory controls, and working capital management
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across procurement, production, and logistics
4. Regulatory Compliance (India-Focused):
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, including financial reporting and governance
- Oversee implementation and reporting under Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS)
- Ensure accurate and timely compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST), including filings, reconciliations, and audits
- Manage direct taxation including income tax, transfer pricing, and tax planning
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and consultants
5. Audit, Controls & Risk Management:
- Lead statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance frameworks
- Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
6. Treasury & Banking:
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital efficiently
- Develop relationships with banks and financial institutions
- Handle fund-raising, debt structuring, and capital management
- Manage forex exposure and hedging strategies (if applicable)
7. Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team
- Build strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, procurement, and supply chain
- Drive a culture of compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory
- Minimum 20+ years of experience, with strong exposure to manufacturing finance
- Deep knowledge of Indian regulatory framework including GST, IND-AS, Companies Act, and direct taxation
- Strong expertise in cost accounting, plant finance, and working capital management
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and digital finance transformation
- Proven leadership experience in senior finance roles
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
