Position Objective
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a vital member of the executive leadership team responsible for the overall financial health and strategic direction of the company. This role demands a highly experienced and strategic financial leader with demonstrated success in fundraising, financial planning, and execution, ideally including IPO experience. The CFO will play a key role in driving growth and achieving the company's long-term financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage investor and financial institution relationships and oversee due diligence processes.
- Debt Financing: Take primary responsibility (90%) for managing over $200M in debt financing across corporate, country-level, and local currency instruments.
- Currency Risk Mitigation: Manage and mitigate currency risks related to operations in multiple countries.
- IPO Readiness & Execution: Lead and manage all efforts related to preparing for and executing an Initial Public Offering if appropriate.
- International Financial Operations & Controls: Oversee global financial operations including accounting, treasury, financial reporting, internal controls, and risk management to ensure
compliance with all regulatory and accounting standards.
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute the financial strategy, long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, and detailed financial reporting. Provide strategic insights to the CEO and Board.
- Mergers & Acquisitions: Evaluate, recommend, and execute potential M&A and strategic investments.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Deliver timely, accurate financial reports and analyses, identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure stability and sustainability.
Requirements:
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification mandatory. Equivalent international certifications such as CPA or ACCA are highly desirable.
- Experience: 15-20 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior management roles.
- Fundraising Expertise: Proven track record raising $100-200 million via debt and equity, including managing due diligence.
- IPO Experience: Successful experience in preparing and executing an IPO as well as managing ongoing public company reporting.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business goals into actionable financial strategy.
- Financial Acumen: Deep knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and reporting frameworks.
- Leadership Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the energy sector preferred; relevant experience in other sectors will be considered.
- International Exposure: Experience working with international operations and multi-country financial management is desirable.
- Credentials: Credible reputation and strong standing within the financial community.
