The firm ranks among the largest independent accounting and advisory practices serving US clients, known for deep technical expertise in US taxation, US audit, and regulatory compliance.

Its India operations form a critical part of its global delivery model, supporting tax, audit, technology, advisory, and shared services with a strong focus on quality and innovation.

Position Overview: Chief Executive Officer US Taxation (India Center)

The CEO will lead the firms India operations, providing strategic and operational leadership across US Tax, US Audit, IT, Technology, and Shared Services.

This is a flagship senior leadership role, requiring an exceptional leader who can inspire, scale, and represent the organization across global forums, client interactions, and internal platforms.

You will be the face of the India organization, building a culture of excellence, accountability, and people-first leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic & Executive Leadership:

- Develop and lead long-term strategy for India operations supporting US Audit, US Taxation, Advisory, and other global service lines.

- Drive expansion, transformation, and capability enhancement across functions.

- Provide vision and direction to a 1,500+ member workforce, ensuring alignment with global organizational goals.

2. People & Culture Leadership (People-First CEO):

- Serve as a visible and approachable leader, with strong personal connect across all staff levels.

- Inspire confidence, build trust, and maintain high morale across the organization.

- Strengthen leadership pipelines, succession planning, and talent development.

- Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, learning, and ethical behavior.

3. Face of the Organization:

- Represent the company in industry forums, leadership conferences, regulatory discussions, and global executive meetings.

- Serve as the senior-most spokesperson for the India center.

- Build strong relationships with US-based partners, senior executives, and external associations.

4. Operations & Delivery Excellence:

- Oversee delivery of high-quality US Tax and US Audit services, ensuring alignment with IRS, PCAOB, GAAP, and compliance frameworks.

- Implement world-class quality control systems and metrics-driven performance management.

- Champion operational efficiency and technology-led improvements.

5. Multi-Department Leadership (Including IT & Shared Services):

- Lead and integrate all departments relocated to India, including:

i. IT / Technology

ii. HR

iii. Finance

iv. Operations

v. Learning & Development

vi. Resource Management

vii. Quality & Compliance

- Ensure seamless coordination and unified leadership across all business units.

6. Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

- Collaborate closely with US partners and global leadership teams.

- Ensure high service quality, adherence to SLAs, and consistent delivery.

- Provide strategic insights to global leaders on India capability development.

7. Risk, Compliance & Governance:

- Oversee adherence to US regulatory requirements and firmwide policies.

- Protect organizational integrity through strong governance and ethical practices.

- Manage operational, reputational, and compliance risks proactively.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

- Minimum 15 to 25+ years in US Taxation and/or US Audit

- Mandatory prior experience in US tax (individual, corporate, partnership, SALT, or international tax)

- Experience leading large organizations of 1,500+ employees in:

i. US audit or US tax

ii. International audit / tax compliance

- Exposure to large global capability centers (Big 4 / Top 10 US accounting firms preferred)

- Demonstrated success in managing multi-functional departments including IT

- Proven ability to represent the organization in public forums, external bodies, and industry platforms

- Strong interpersonal skills approachable, people-centric, and highly collaborative

- Excellent communication, leadership presence, and stakeholder management
