Our client is a leading Indian semiconductor company focused on developing and manufacturing cutting-edge power semiconductors, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, GaN/SiC devices, and integrated power solutions for automotive, industrial, energy, and consumer electronics markets.
The company is on a mission to build world-class design, manufacturing, and innovation capabilities from India to the world; to power India into the future by supporting a number of essential applications including EV, renewable energy, and power storage to name a few.
Position Overview:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the organization through its next phase of growth, innovation, and global expansion. The CEO will define strategic direction, scale operations, foster innovation, drive financial performance, and position the company as a global technology leader in the semiconductor space.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Vision & Growth:
- Develop and execute a bold, future-ready strategy aligned with global trends in power electronics, emobility, renewable energy, and industrial automation.
- Drive global market penetration through strategic partnerships, M&A, and geographic expansion.
- Align the company with national initiatives (e.g., India Semiconductor Mission) and international semiconductor supply chain opportunities. Further build out sales and distribution capabilities in India and abroad.
Technology & Product Leadership:
- Guide product roadmap for high-performance MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN, and integrated power ICs.
- Oversee R&D investments, IP development, and time-to-market for innovative, high-reliability semiconductor solutions.
- Stay ahead of trends in wide-bandgap technologies, automotive-grade standards, and embedded power systems.
Operational Excellence:
- Lead fab/fabless hybrid operations, ensuring cost-efficient, high-yield production and strong vendor/foundry partnerships.
- Establish world-class manufacturing, packaging, and testing capabilities (via OSATs) in India.
- Strengthen supply chain resilience and capacity planning to support global demand.
Financial & Business Stewardship:
- Deliver strong financial results-P&L responsibility, revenue growth, and capital efficiency.
- Engage investors, analysts, and the board with clear financial vision and transparent reporting.
- Lead fundraising (debt/equity) and government grant utilization.
Talent & Culture Development:
- Build a high-performance executive team across engineering, operations, and commercial functions.
- Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration. Foster strong employee engagement and leadership development initiatives.
Stakeholder & Ecosystem Leadership:
- Represent the company to regulators, policymakers, customers, and industry consortia. Advocate for India's role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
- Collaborate with academia, R&D labs, and innovation clusters to develop next-gen talent and technology.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or related field (PhD or MBA is a plus).
Experience:
- 15-25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Minimum 5-8 years in executive leadership (CXO level) in power semiconductors or adjacent domains.
- Proven track record in scaling operations, driving innovation, and global market development.
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep knowledge of MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and GaN device technologies and applications.
- Strong business acumen with P&L ownership and strategic agility.
- Global leadership capability with an understanding of complex supply chains
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Background:
- Executive leadership in Semiconductor companies.
- Experience with EV powertrain electronics, industrial motor control, solar/wind inverters, or power management ICs.
- Familiarity with India's semiconductor policy, including PLI/DLI schemes and global fab partnerships.
