- The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, leadership, and operational success of the plastic recycling division.
- This high-impact role requires an entrepreneurial mindset to scale the business from initial stages to market leadership, ensuring efficient, sustainable, and profitable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the business unit's strategies, working with the management team to set long-term goals for growth and sustainability.
- Business Development & Growth: Drive market entry, identify strategic partnerships and joint ventures, and secure new clients and revenue streams. Experience in scaling businesses (0- 1 and 1- 10x) is highly valued.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee all plant operations, including sorting, shredding, washing, extrusion, and compounding processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and product quality (recycled granules/flakes).
- Financial Management: Manage the division's budget, monitor financial performance, optimize resource utilization, control costs, and drive overall profitability.
- Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all environmental regulations and promote a circular economy model. The CEO will lead initiatives to reduce plastic in landfills and achieve a positive environmental impact.
- Team Leadership & Culture: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary external representative for the division, engaging with clients, investors, government bodies, and the community to promote the company's mission and secure support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership or management consulting role within relevant industries, such as recycling, waste management, plastics manufacturing, or packaging.
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, environmental science, or a related field; a Master's degree (MBA) is often preferred.
Leadership Skills:
- Strong leadership ability, a strategic mindset, professional business acumen, and outstanding problem-solving skills.
Technical Knowledge:
- Extensive know-how in plastic manufacturing processes, recycling technology (e.g., extrusion machines, compounding), and waste management protocols is essential.
Communication:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate a clear vision and inspire teams.
