Organization : CLIENT OF THIRD SECTOR PARTNERS Job Title : CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) Reports to : GOVERNING BODY (GB) OF THE ORGANIZATION Location : BANGALORE Introduction : This organization is a not-for-profit organization registered in 2005 initiated by a network of organizations from different parts of the country. Nurtured since its infancy by BMZ (via BORDA), the organization has today grown to a robust NGO with over seventy personnel and supported by a number of large donor organizations - most notably, BMGF, ADB, GIZ, Oracle, United Way, EAWAG, Water Aid and many others. Organization's Mission is to : - To deliver innovation, demonstration and dissemination of decentralized nature-based solutions for the conservation, collection, treatment and reuse of water resources and management of sanitation facilities - To deliver technical expertise grounded within the socio-economic context, through consulting, training and capacity building of government and non-government agencies, communities and other stakeholders in the water and sanitation ecosystem - To create a workplace of choice for talent interested in social and environmental impact Reason for the hire : They are looking for a CEO who can provide leadership, direction and management for the organization. The incumbent shall provide strategic vision, planning, and operational leadership to the organization. The incumbent will be expected to lead the development of the organization's short- and long-term strategy. Roles and Responsibilities : Organisational Strategy and Governance : - Define their overall strategy in creating impact-scale towards institution building - Lead and direct the fund-raising effort of the organisation to build and manage a diverse portfolio of donors and partners. - Facilitate a democratic process with the governing board to create a shared understanding of the overall functioning of the organisation and its commitment towards the purpose. - Mobilize, consult and report updates to the Board &amp; Advisors, and all stakeholders regarding progress on strategic priorities. - Collaborate with the Board to accelerate progress, invest in strategic partnerships &amp; relationships. General Management and Organisation Operations : - Lead all operational functions i.e. Administration, Finance, HR, Legal, IT, Marketing and Communications, Capacity Building and Knowledge Management, Fund Raising, Projects/Programs, Engineering, Applied Research and Innovation. - Ensure manpower planning, staff productivity and employee wellbeing. Program Management : - Provide strategic direction and guide efforts on overall program delivery, diligence and partner engagement. - Work with Program Managers and engineering teams, government and funding clients, CSR donors to discuss and manage the roadmap, timelines, scope, and long-term vision of the existing and new programs. Leadership and Organisation Culture : - Develop an excellent work culture which shall nurture passion, equality of opportunity and excellence in productivity. - Build great talent and teams by cultivating a high-performing, one-team sense of belonging. Financial Oversight and Overall Statutory Compliance : - Oversee strategic financial management and reporting, statutory and auditory compliance, donor management, covenants etc. - Manage and assess risk, review contracts, agreements related to all assets, vendors, various procurement and overall programs. Must Haves : - The incumbent should have institution building, general team management and organizational leadership experience of at least 5 years and overall experience of more than 15 years. - Experience and knowledge of operations of running a small to medium firm with its internal functions, budgeting and financial management skills. - Flexibility to travel and attend meetings, training, conferences, site visits and various forums. Preferable : - Experience in the WASH sector is preferred. - An interest to continue with the organization for at least the next 5-10 years is preferred. - Water and sanitation and/or engineering, social sector background is an added advantage.
