The CEO is responsible for the success or failure of the company. Operations, marketing, strategy, financing, creation of company culture, human resources, hiring, firing, compliance with safety regulations, sales, PR, etc.- it all falls on the CEO's shoulders. Being responsible means that the CEO is the one held accountable for the success of the company's efforts, across the board.   General Operations  - Formulating and implementing the strategic plan that guides the direction of the organization. Assuring that the plan creation involves significant input from the organization so that there is little push back on the complete implementation  - Overseeing all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission  - Creating, communicating and implementing the organization's vision, mission, and overall direction. Leading the development and implementation of the overall organization's strategy.  - Leading, guiding, directing, and evaluating the work of other executive leaders including presidents, vice presidents, and directors, depending on the organization's reporting structure. In the process of leading these senior leaders, the CEO makes certain that the strategic direction set filters down through the organization to ensure its achievement.  - Maintaining awareness of both the external and the internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards, and so forth. Look at potential acquisitions that will enhance shareholder value.  - Participate in industry-related events or associations that will enhance the CEO's leadership skills or the organization's reputation and potential for success  - The CEO must create a learning environment so that the organization will continue to grow and flourish and enhance the skills and abilities of employees. Only if these significant players continue to learn and grow will the organization succeed at the level desired.  - Additionally, the CEO must ensure that the organization's leaders experience the consequences of their actions whether through reward and recognition or performance coaching and disciplinary actions.   - Analyze employee turnover rates to identify fundamental problem areas.  - Identify personality issues / company policies that may be creating negative impact on company morale and productivity.  Financial Issues  - Recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages organization's resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations  - Regularly review financial statements, itemized payroll, payables and receivables list.  Review budgets of all departments or divisions for reasonableness of assumptions, quality of projections and current relevancy.  - Evaluate obvious, and not so obvious, problems and strengths revealed by the financial statements.  - Do realistic cash forecast for the next 90 and 180-day periods.  - Evaluate asset utilization and re-deploy if appropriate and prudent in the short term.  Liabilities / Risks / Time Bombs  - Regularly review banking and debt obligations and ensure no technical or major defaults, if possible. If in default, develop game plan and/or negotiate workout.   - Identify and take steps to immediately defuse all visible, or suspected, ticking time bombs.  Regulatory / Legal / Litigation  - Ensure all payroll taxes are paid and properly reported.   - Ensure the company is in compliance with all required regulatory and licensing agencies, etc. and if not, take action to resolve these issues.  - Identify all outstanding legal issues and litigation risks along with probable, and possible, associated costs.   - Ensure no securities law violations have occurred -- and if they have, take immediate steps to remedy them, or mitigate their impact.   - Ensure any patents, trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights are properly filed, and appropriate protections are in place.  Product lines / Marketing / Sales / Distribution  - Analyze service delivery schedules and takes steps to improve meeting commitment dates.   - Evaluate product development timetables, budget forecasts and quality of project management systems, procedures and controls.   - Evaluate sales, marketing, distribution, forecasts and trend lines for improvement opportunities in all areas.   - Ensure that the company's image in the marketplace is high.   - Complete competitive analysis for each product line.   - Evaluate pricing models for each product line and adjust accordingly.   - Identify product line strengths and weaknesses and develop short-term action plan to solve the most glaring problems.   - Identify potential products -- 6, 12 and 24 months into the future -- and their possible impact on revenue and expenses.   - Establish / update / expand web presence.   - Evaluate expenditures and effectiveness of marketing and advertising for media, trade shows, market research, focus groups and public relations and adjust accordingly.   - Evaluate sales force, sales-related incentives, sales targets, sales personnel training, special offers, dealerships, telemarketing and sales support.   - Evaluate customer / technical support, guarantees and after-sales service  Human Resource Management  Effectively manages the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations  Fundraising   Fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation  Other Criteria  Current/Previous Experience   - From a Service Focused Industry  - Handled P&L responsibility for at least 5 yrs  Critical Skills  - Good Track record of growing profitable organizations  - Should be open to ideas and tech savvy  - Someone with a strong B2C orientation (retail etc.) and sophistication to handle B2B crowd (diagnostics, medical devices etc.)  - Should have handled last mile connectivity business, because here he will be handling largely middle- class crowd  - He should have the flexibility of being in a startup, and not someone who is going by set and systematic rules  - Strong Communication skills both written and Verbal  - People Person, good at building relationships  - Should have handled scale of around 3000 employees  - Strong leadership and influencing skill  - Dedicated and ethical   - Good Organizational Skills  - Stable and long-term approach  - Willingness to work in a fast growth organization  - High energy levels  - Open to travel
