Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly creative and hands-on Chief Designer to lead the design philosophy and product development for a premium luxury brand. This is a leadership role focused on end-to-end product design, conceptualization, and execution of collectible lifestyle products. The role requires a strong balance of aesthetics, functionality, craftsmanship, and engineering understanding, along with the ability to translate creative vision into production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Design & Development:

- Lead end-to-end product development from concept to final production.

- Translate creative ideas into technically feasible and commercially viable products.

- Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and execution plans.

- Innovate with materials, finishes, hardware, and mechanisms.

- Drive prototyping, testing, and continuous product refinement.

2. Product Planning & Execution:

- Establish structured workflows from ideation to product launch.

- Own project timelines, milestones, and delivery schedules.

- Ensure seamless coordination across design, engineering, and production teams.

- Monitor execution and resolve design/production challenges proactively.

3. Material & Technical Expertise:

- Strong expertise in at least two of the following: Leather, Metal, Wood, Lighting.

- Deep understanding of construction techniques, materials, and finishes.

- Ensure high standards of luxury craftsmanship and product quality.

- Work across mixed-material applications and explore innovative techniques.

4. Leadership & Collaboration:

- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams across design and production.

- Act as a bridge between creative vision and execution teams.

- Drive alignment across engineering, sourcing, and operations.

5. Future Product Development:

- Lead new category development including:

1. Luxury travel/luggage products.

2. Collectible design objects.

3. Lifestyle accessories.

4. Limited-edition collaborations.

Skills & Competencies:

- Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Rhino/3Ds Max.

- Strong understanding of design aesthetics and functionality.

- Experience in project planning, budgeting, and vendor management.

- Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills.

- Strong process orientation and workflow development capability.

Education:

- Bachelors/Masters in Product Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design, or related fields.

- Preferred: NID, NIFT, IIT Design programs, or reputed global design schools.

Experience:

- 1014 years in product/industrial/furniture/luxury design.

- Proven experience handling complex products from concept to production.

- Strong exposure to manufacturing processes and material applications.

- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple projects.

Work Environment:

- Hands-on role involving work across design studios, workshops, and production floors.

- High ownership, fast-paced, and detail-driven environment.

Location & Travel:

- Based in Jaipur with occasional travel required.
