Qualification : BE Electrical / BE Production / BE Industrial Engineering

Experience :

- 20 years (Atleast 8 years in a senior leadership role in Design)

- Extensive and proven expertise in the design, engineering, and commissioning of EHV/HV Substations (e.g., 220KV, 400KV) and high-voltage Transmission Lines

Reporting To : MD / CEO

Role Summary:

- The Chief Design Officer is technical authority, responsible for setting the engineering vision, standards, and methodology for all EPC projects, including EHV Substation design (up to 400KV/500KV HVDC) and Transmission Line routing/structuring.

- The CDO ensures that all design activities are technically superior, cost-optimized, compliant with client and regulatory standards, and fully integrated with the Procurement and Construction phases of the projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design Vision: Establish the strategic technical direction for the company's engineering services, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and the adoption of modern, robust design standards (e.g., relevant IEC, IEEE, IS, and utility-specific codes).

- Engineering Excellence: Develop and champion a standardized, best-in-class design methodology across all engineering disciplines (Electrical, Civil, Structural, etc.) for EPC projects.

- Technological Advancement: Lead the evaluation and implementation of advanced design software (e.g., specialized CAD/CAE tools, PLS-CADD for transmission lines, 3D modeling/BIM for substations) to improve design accuracy and integration.

- Design Oversight: Direct the overall design lifecycle for all major projects, from concept/front-end engineering design (FEED) through detailed engineering, ensuring constructability and timely release of engineering deliverables.

- Inter-Disciplinary Coordination: Ensure seamless and conflict-free integration between different design disciplines (e.g., civil foundation design must align perfectly with electrical equipment placement and structural steel specifications).

- Design Optimization: Drive innovation in design to reduce material consumption, simplify construction methodologies, and lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for clients, thereby improving project competitiveness.

- Design Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Own the final responsibility for the Quality Assurance and Control (QA/QC) process on all design packages, certifying that designs meet the requirements of the client, tender specifications, and all statutory regulations.

- Ensure all design and engineering outputs are fully compliant with relevant Indian and international safety, environmental, and technical standards, particularly those mandated by utilities like GETCO, PGCIL, and Adani Transmission.
