Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Chief Dealer - Rates / Treasury to lead the fixed-income trading function and manage a significant trading portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in active trading of interest-rate products, with deep expertise across Government Securities, State Development Loans (SDLs), Interest Rate Derivatives and Corporate Bonds.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a seasoned market professional who can combine hands-on trading expertise, team leadership, risk management and strategic treasury capabilities, with the potential to progress into a Head-Treasury role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage a team of approximately 5 traders, providing strategic direction, mentoring and performance management.

- Independently manage and execute trading strategies for a portfolio of approximately 1,500 crore.

- Drive active trading across Central Government Securities (G-Secs), State Development Loans (SDLs), Interest Rate Derivatives (IRD) and other eligible fixed-income instruments.

- Develop and execute trading strategies based on interest-rate movements, market liquidity, macroeconomic indicators and monetary-policy developments.

- Monitor market positions, risk limits, P&L and portfolio performance.

- Ensure disciplined execution of trading strategies within approved risk and regulatory parameters.

- Maintain a strong understanding of RBI regulations, regulatory guidelines and applicable fixed-income market practices.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional market participants, counterparties and other relevant stakeholders.

- Identify market opportunities while maintaining appropriate risk-return parameters.

- Contribute to the development of treasury strategy, risk management frameworks and trading processes.

- Work closely with senior management on market outlook, portfolio positioning and treasury initiatives.

- Depending on capability and performance, the incumbent may eventually take responsibility for Equity and Fund Management teams.

- Demonstrate leadership capability and strategic thinking required to transition into a broader Head-Treasury mandate.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 15-20+ years of relevant experience in Treasury / Fixed Income / Rates Trading.

- Strong and demonstrable track record in active trading of Rate products.

- Current or prior experience with Primary Dealers, Private Sector Banks, Foreign / International Banks, or Mutual Funds / Asset Management Companies.

- Hands-on trading experience in Central Government Securities / G-Secs, State Development Loans / SDLs, Interest Rate Derivatives, and Corporate Bonds.

- Strong understanding of RBI regulations, monetary policy and Indian fixed-income market guidelines.

- Proven experience managing sizeable trading books and delivering trading P&L.

- Demonstrated people-management and team-leadership capabilities.

- Strong market relationships and understanding of institutional fixed-income markets.

- Ability to combine individual trading responsibility with senior team leadership.

- Strong analytical, decision-making and risk-management capabilities.

Leadership & Career Progression:

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop into a broader Head-Treasury role over the next 1-3 years, subject to performance, leadership capability and business requirements.

Education:

MBA / PGDM in Finance or a relevant discipline preferred. Candidates from premier institutions such as IIM / IIT or other leading institutes may be preferred.
