About the role:

The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) will be responsible for establishing, strengthening, and monitoring the organization's compliance framework across NBFC and HFC entities. The role ensures adherence to all regulatory requirements laid down by RBI, NHB, SEBI, and other applicable statutory bodies. The CCO will also play a key role in preparing the organization for its planned IPO, including governance strengthening, risk mitigation, internal controls, and disclosure readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance Management:

- Develop, implement, and oversee a robust compliance framework for NBFC and HFC operations

- Ensure adherence to RBI Master Directions, NHB guidelines, KYC/AML standards, Fair Practices Code, and other regulatory requirements

- Monitor regulatory updates and communicate implications to senior management

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of regulatory returns (RBI, NHB, FIU-IND, MCA, etc.)

- Lead compliance audits and support statutory and internal audit processes

2. IPO Readiness & Corporate Governance:

- Strengthen corporate governance standards in line with SEBI (LODR) and listing requirements

- Build systems for disclosure controls, related-party transaction monitoring, and board compliance

- Establish policies and documentation required for due diligence by bankers and advisors

- Drive compliance aspects of DRHP/Red Herring Prospectus preparation

3. Risk & Internal Control Alignment:

- Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Finance, and Business teams to develop internal controls

- Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across lending, operations, and digital initiatives

- Ensure adherence to data protection, cybersecurity, digital lending guidelines, and grievance redressal norms

4. Policy Framework & Training:

- Develop and update compliance-related policies (AML, KYC, Outsourcing, Fair Practices Code, Whistleblower, etc.)

- Conduct compliance training and awareness programs across teams

- Promote a culture of compliance and ethical business practices

5. Advisory & Stakeholder Management:

- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities

- Provide compliance guidance for new products and business initiatives

- Prepare and present compliance reports to the Board and Committees

Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant / Company Secretary / LLB / MBA (Finance, Risk, Compliance) preferred

- Compliance certifications (ICAI / ICSI / NISM / AML) are an added advantage

- 15-20 years of experience in compliance, with 8-10 years in leadership roles within NBFC/HFC/BFSI

- Strong knowledge of RBI and NHB regulations

- Experience with IPO-bound or listed entities is highly desirable

- Proven track record in managing regulatory interactions and compliance frameworks

Key Skills:

- Strong understanding of NBFC/HFC regulations and operational processes

- Expertise in AML/KYC, data privacy, outsourcing norms, and digital lending guidelines

- Strong stakeholder management and regulatory interfacing skills

- High integrity and ethical mindset

- Excellent analytical, documentation, and policy drafting abilities
