Roles and Responsibilities: He/she will closely work with Group General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Leadership team and board of directors with a view to designing all the elements of compliance program, including e.g. the development of enterprise standards, policies and procedures; systems, tools and controls; training and communications; open reporting / whistleblowing and compliance investigations; compliance monitoring and auditing Experience Required: A senior figure with a proven track record and substantial experience (minimum 10 years) in risk and compliance roles, preferably with multi-national firms and firms with foreign investors. Prior experience in the India and/or international healthcare sector will be added advantage Education Qualifications: Master's degree from a reputable university in India, in a field relevant to compliance (preferably in the field of law) Job Responsibilities : General Responsibilities: - Generally, working toward creating a culture and environment in which all employees perform their duties in a manner that does not conflict with ethical and legal requirements. - Develop, implement and oversee a robust risk management strategy and program. - Specifically, developing enterprise standards, policies, procedures in relation to all fundamental aspects of an adequate compliance program, e.g. code of conduct anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing, supplier relationships and screening of (high-risk) third parties, respectful workplace, conflict of interest, propriety of payments made and payments received, compliance with critical laws such as public procurement, competition and data protection laws. - Developing and rolling out initiatives and campaigns to increase awareness of the enterprise standards, policies and procedures. - Rolling out training programs to/for employees to enhance their understanding of, commitment to and compliance with the enterprise standards, policies and procedures. - Putting in place a suitable control environment to ensure adherence to the enterprise standards, policies and procedures. - Overseeing, monitoring and auditing the organization's adherence to the compliance program and its enterprise standards, policies and procedures. - Conducting / supporting the conduct of independent / confidential compliance investigations initiated in response to concerns / grievances raised internally or externally in relation to aspects of the compliance program. - Working with regulators, government and enforcement authorities in relation to inquiries received with regard to the compliance program. - Providing strategic guidance as well as tactical advice to members/employees on how to ensure behavior corresponds to all ethical and legal standards, and the relevant enterprise standards, policies and procedures. - Preparing and presenting to the board of directors on matters of compliance. - Maintain all compliance records and registers, such as gifts and conflict registers, procurement registers and delegated and signing authorities in accordance with policies and systems Additional Job Responsibilities: - Strong commitment to integrity, ethics and good governance and be able to demonstrate leadership and drive in promoting integrity and corporate governance standards, - Strong knowledge of, and ability to provide guidance on, Indian regulatory requirements and prior exposure to international best practice standards in the private sector on corporate governance, - Detailed knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption legislation, conventions and best practice, including familiarity with the UK Bribery Act and/or the FCPA, - Self-starter and motivated individual with a pro-active attitude, willing to get involved in all aspects of a new business with a clear mission - Effective and rigorous risk management skills to make well-reasoned, independent and transparent decisions with quick turnaround expectations. Technical Competencies: - Computer literate and fully conversant with all MS Office packages and preferably, e-delivery solutions for board packs and board pack management.
