About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Business Officer (CBO) to lead our business growth, strategic partnerships, and revenue expansion across the payment gateway ecosystem. The CBO will be responsible for driving market positioning, identifying new opportunities, scaling enterprise relationships, and ensuring strong collaboration across product, sales, marketing, and operations. This role requires a deep understanding of digital payments, merchant acquiring, UPI, card payments, cross-border transactions, and fintech regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the business growth strategy for merchant acquiring, enterprise sales, and SMB adoption.
- Lead strategic alliances and partnerships with banks, card networks, regulators, and ecosystem players.
- Drive P&L ownership, ensuring sustainable revenue and profitability.
- Oversee sales, marketing, and business development teams, ensuring cross-functional alignment with product and technology.
- Identify new revenue streams in areas such as subscription billing, recurring payments, cross-border, and value-added services.
- Represent the organization in industry forums, regulatory bodies, and strategic discussions to strengthen market presence.
- Partner with the Chief Product Officer and CTO to ensure customer-centric product innovation aligned with market needs.
- Build a high-performing, data-driven, and execution-focused business organization.
Qualifications & Skills
- 20+ years of experience in fintech, digital payments, or banking, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in enterprise business development, partnerships, and scaling revenue.
- Strong understanding of UPI, cards, payment gateway flows, compliance, and risk frameworks.
- Strategic thinker with P&L management experience.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth fintech environment.
