JOB DESCRIPTION - CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER

Industry: Financial Product Distribution
Position Overview:
CBO will drive strategic growth initiatives, revenue acceleration, product innovation, and geographic expansion. This is a quasi-entrepreneurial leadership role, with significant responsibility for business development, stakeholder engagement, and building high-performing sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Growth:
- Lead overall revenue generation, business expansion, and market share enhancement for SSCPL.
- Develop and execute a medium-term business plan aligned with the Group's philosophy of ethical, sustainable, and profitable growth.
- Identify and evaluate new product opportunities and drive expansion into new geographies.
Business Development & Sales Excellence:
- Build a robust, future-ready sales and business development strategy.
- Formulate and drive impactful sales campaigns, client outreach initiatives, and market penetration programs.
- Finalize partnerships with manufacturers of financial products to broaden the company's offerings.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of sales professionals.
- Implement a strong metrics-driven framework for performance management, sales incentives, rewards, and recognition.
Market Intelligence & Innovation:
- Continuously track and analyze customer behavior, market trends, and emerging technologies.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the leadership team to keep SSCPL ahead of the market.
Governance, Reporting & Stakeholder Management:
- Provide periodic updates to senior leadership on progress vs. business plans, risks, and support requirements.
- Ensure alignment with group values and long-term strategic priorities.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong customer orientation with a results-driven mindset.
- Deep relationships and networks in the financial product distribution domain.
- Thorough knowledge of Mutual Funds and capital market instruments, especially products targeted at HNI and retail investors.
- Excellent verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial approach to business building.
Qualification & Experience:
- MBA / MFS or equivalent; exceptional candidates with relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Prior experience in Financial Services, Private Banking, Wealth Management, or Asset Management is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in leading and scaling sales teams is a must.
