JOB PURPOSE :
As the Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO), this role will be the driving force behind Nisus Finances growth globally and capital-raising efforts. The CBDO will shape and lead our fundraising strategies across our proprietary products, including our CAT II AIFs in India and CAT 3C DIFC funds in Dubai. This role is about building lasting, trusted relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and major banking networks to grow our assets under management.
The CBDO will lead the senior business development teams, guide the creation of practical real estate and credit investment solutions, expand our cross-border capital pipelines via GIFT City, and build a strong, reliable distribution network both across India and internationally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving Capital Growth & Market Reach:
- Take full ownership of our annual business plan for global fundraising, asset growth, and expanding our market presence.
- Lead our fundraising efforts with Tier-1 banks, ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs), and family offices in India and abroad.
- Build a strong, well-connected distribution network across India by partnering with key master distributors, wealth platforms, and independent financial advisors (IFAs) in major cities and growing regions.
- Open up new international avenues for investment, focus on building strong relationships across the UAE, GCC, and global financial hubs to bring international capital into our funds.
Product Strategy & Collaboration:
- Work hand-in-hand with our Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and legal teams to design and introduce investment products that truly fit market needs, covering private credit, real estate opportunities, and income-generating assets.
- Keep a close eye on the market and competitors to spot new trends and opportunities, making sure our investment themes align with what investors are looking for.
- Guide the development of straightforward, high-impact fund materials, pitch decks, and investment overviews alongside our marketing and investor relations teams.
Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management:
- Provide strategic oversight to the internal Investor Relations (IR) team to ensure an institutional-grade service experience for our HNI, UHNI, and corporate clients.
- Serve as the primary executive-level bridge between the firm and key investor groups, ensuring clear, open, and authentic dialogue regarding fund performances and market outlooks.
- Establish streamlined processes for the onboarding of new investors, ensuring the transition from capital commitment to active monitoring is smooth, transparent, and legally sound.
- Oversee the regular distribution of accurate financial disclosures, quarterly investment updates, drawdown notices, and tax documentation.
- Cultivate a culture of proactive communication, actively gathering investor feedback to help internal teams refine fund designs and better align future products with current market needs.
Leadership & Team Synergy:
- Mentor and guide the Senior Vice President of Business Development, investor relations leaders, and regional managers to keep our fundraising efforts on track.
- Ensure our investor relations team delivers clear, transparent, and timely reporting to build deep trust with our most important clients.
- Work closely with internal Legal, Compliance, and Finance teams to make sure we can launch new ideas to the market smoothly and responsibly.
Navigating Regulations:
- Guide our compliance and legal teams through the regulatory requirements of different regions, ensuring everything we do aligns with SEBI rules in India and DFSA standards in Dubai.
- Help lead cross-border structuring, including managing licensing needs and setting up capital pooling via GIFT City Feeder structures.
CANDIDATE PROFILE :
Experience:
- 15+ years of solid experience in capital raising, private equity, wealth management, or investment banking.
- A clear track record of successfully raising capital for Indian Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) or offshore structures (like DIFC or Mauritius).
- Ready-to-go networks and existing trust-based relationships with decision-makers at prominent Indian banks, global family offices, and wealth platforms.
Education & Certifications:
- Post-Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (MBA) from a reputable institution.
- Professional qualifications like CFA, CA, or CAIA are a strong advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- A deep understanding of how private market funds, real estate finance, and private credit actually work.
- Strong executive presence with a warm, conversational approach to negotiation and relationship-building.
- Natural analytical skills and clear thinking, allowing you to explain complex market shifts to investors in a simple, practical way.
