Role Summary:
The Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) is responsible for defining and leading the banks enterprise analytics and AI strategy. The role owns analytics-driven decisioning across business, risk, finance, operations, and compliance, with clear accountability for P&L impact, scorecard performance, innovation, and regulatory governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the bank-wide analytics and AI strategy aligned to growth, profitability, and risk objectives.
- Own analytics-led P&L outcomes including revenue uplift, loss reduction, cost optimisation, and capital efficiency.
- Lead development and governance of credit, fraud, AML, collections, pricing, and customer scorecards.
- Embed predictive and prescriptive analytics into core business and risk decisions.
- Drive analytics and AI innovation across digital lending, payments, and branch banking.
- Establish strong data governance, model risk management, and AI governance in line with Indian regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Technology to build scalable analytics platforms and ML pipelines.
- Build, lead, and retain a high-performing analytics organisation of 50+ professionals.
Experience & Skills:
- 18+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or risk within banks, NBFCs, or fintechs.
- Strong expertise in scorecards, credit and risk analytics, AI/ML, and regulatory models.
- Proven leadership of large analytics teams and enterprise-scale initiatives.
- Ability to engage with senior leadership, regulators, and auditors.
