Key roles and responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
- Regular, intense and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure full compliance with applicable taxation laws.
- Lead, effectively delegate and monitor all periodic tax workings, validation of GST ITC and TDS on monthly basis.
- Timely identification of issues arising during compliances and ensuring timely mitigative action including review/analysis/improvement of various controls.
- Resolution of various tax related queries of Vendors, Customers in timely manner.
- Should be well versed with ERP/System workings and Integration, API workings, Excel
automations, working knowledge of Excel Macros etc.
Tax Reporting:
- Lead, effectively delegate and monitor various tax GLs/balances in Books.
- Lead, effectively delegate and monitor periodic MIS, Group reporting requirements, projected
tax cash outflows, State wise Cash and ITC ratio etc.
- Lead, effectively delegate and monitor Form 26AS reconciliation with Receivables and proactive resolve issues with Customer to avoid any disallowances of TDS Credit.
- Should identify proactively areas for automation to establish effective controls.
Tax Representation:
- Lead GST audits and representations before authorities for notices, assessments etc.
- Lead statutory tax audits, facilitate tax reconciliations, deal with assessments/scrutiny, and manage appellate/litigation documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements for automation/efficiencies.
- Advise cross-functional teams on statutory compliances and control design.
- Effectively liaison with internal/external stake holders to compile and collate information
required for submission.
Essential experience/skills:
- Chartered Accountant with 8-10 years experience in multi-state GST and Income Tax compliance.
- Exposure to Indirect Taxation, Direct Taxation, or International Taxation compliance will be an added advantage.
- Strong result orientation with proven ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
- Up-to-date knowledge of tax laws with a proactive approach to identifying changes impacting the organization.
- Willingness to travel frequently across various states for representation before tax authorities.
- Proactive, focused, and self-motivated with strong prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and guide teams, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills with both internal and external
stakeholders.
