Chartered Accountant - Lending Audit - Banking

Education & Experience:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant

- 0-1 years of relevant experience in credit underwriting, file auditing, or risk management.

- Prior exposure to lending company operations is essential.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Professional to support our Audit function. The role requires strong expertise in credit underwriting, file review, and risk assessment within lending operations. Candidates with backgrounds focused primarily on tax or financial statement preparation will not be aligned with this position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed reviews of credit files to ensure adherence to underwriting standards and policies.

- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or deviations in loan documentation and approvals.

- Perform risk-based audits of lending operations to assess compliance and quality.

- Evaluate borrower profiles, financials, and collateral to assess creditworthiness.

- Ensure underwriting decisions are consistent with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Provide recommendations for improving credit risk assessment processes.

- Monitor lending operations for compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

- Prepare audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and corrective actions.

- Support risk management initiatives by identifying systemic issues and recommending solutions.

- Work closely with credit, operations, and compliance teams to strengthen risk controls.

- Provide feedback and training to underwriting staff based on audit findings.

- Partner with leadership to enhance overall credit risk governance.

- Strong knowledge of lending operations and credit underwriting processes.

- Proven experience in auditing files and conducting risk assessments.

- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
