About the Role:

BMA Capital is looking for a commercially oriented Chartered Accountant to join its Dubai-based investment and portfolio management function. The role sits at the intersection of Finance, Investment Management, Portfolio Analytics and Business Performance, supporting the management of BMA's investment portfolio and providing high-quality financial analysis, reporting and decision support to senior management.

The ideal candidate will go beyond traditional accounting and have exposure to investment portfolios, financial markets, portfolio performance, financial modelling, MIS, management reporting, cash-flow management, valuation and investment-related financial analysis.

Portfolio Financial Management

- Monitor and analyse the financial performance of BMA's investment portfolio.

- Maintain financial information relating to portfolio investments, including equities, fixed income, funds, structured products, commodities and other financial instruments, as applicable.

- Analyse portfolio income, capital appreciation, realised/unrealised gains and losses, fees and expenses.

- Track investment cash flows, distributions, capital calls and portfolio-related transactions.

- Support portfolio managers and senior management with financial analysis and investment decision support.

- Develop and maintain portfolio-level financial models and analytical dashboards.

Investment & Portfolio Analysis

- Support evaluation and financial analysis of new investment opportunities.

- Review investment proposals, financial models, assumptions and projected returns.

- Conduct ROI, IRR, NPV, cash-flow and sensitivity analysis.

- Analyse investment performance against budgets, business plans and benchmarks.

- Identify financial risks, performance gaps and opportunities for improvement.

- Support financial due diligence for new investments and transactions.

- Assist with acquisition, refinancing, restructuring and exit analysis.

Financial Reporting & Management MIS

- Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio financial reports and management MIS.

- Prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow and portfolio performance reports.

- Provide variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods.

- Prepare management presentations and financial analysis for senior leadership/Board-level discussions.

- Develop financial KPIs for monitoring portfolio performance.

- Coordinate with finance, investment, operations and external stakeholders for accurate reporting.

Investment Accounting & Valuation

- Review accounting treatment and valuation of investment assets.

- Monitor fair value, realised/unrealised gains and losses, investment income and portfolio expenses.

- Review reporting from portfolio companies, asset managers, fund managers and external service providers.

- Reconcile investment positions, cash balances and financial records.

- Liaise with auditors, valuation advisors, fund administrators, custodians and other external stakeholders.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

- Monitor portfolio-level and entity-level cash positions.

- Prepare short-, medium- and long-term cash-flow forecasts.

- Monitor investment inflows/outflows, distributions, financing obligations and operating requirements.

- Support treasury decisions and efficient deployment of available capital.

- Identify liquidity requirements and funding gaps in advance.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Planning

- Lead/support annual budgeting and forecasting for portfolio investments.

- Prepare financial projections based on investment and operating assumptions.

- Conduct actual-vs-budget and forecast-vs-actual analysis.

- Work with investment and asset-management teams to develop financial business plans.

- Update financial models based on market conditions and portfolio performance.

Investor & Stakeholder Reporting

- Support investor reporting and investment performance reports.

- Calculate and validate investor distributions and portfolio returns.

- Prepare investment performance summaries and management commentary.

- Coordinate with investors, portfolio companies, fund managers, auditors and professional advisors.

- Ensure stakeholder financial information is accurate, complete and well supported.

Tax, Regulatory & Compliance Support

- Support tax planning, compliance and reporting for UAE and international investment structures.

- Work with external advisors on UAE Corporate Tax, VAT and international tax matters, where applicable.

- Support applicable accounting standards, internal financial controls and investment policies.

- Assist with regulatory and audit requirements applicable to investment activities.

- Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for investment transactions.

Candidate Profile

Mandatory Requirements

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI or equivalent internationally recognised professional body.

- 5-10 years of post-qualification experience.

- Strong experience in Investment Management, Asset Management, Private Equity, Family Office, Financial Services, Investment Banking, Fund Accounting or Big 4 Financial Services Advisory/Audit.

- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.

- Excellent knowledge of financial modelling and investment analysis.

- Advanced MS Excel skills, including financial modelling, Pivot Tables, formulas and data analysis.

- Experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

- Strong analytical and numerical capabilities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work with senior management and investment professionals.
