Chartered Accountant - Finance & Accounts

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant with 35 years of post-qualification experience to manage financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, budgeting, and banking operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, sound accounting knowledge, and experience in handling end-to-end finance functions while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting:

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, and Cash Flow Statement.

- Ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts in compliance with applicable Accounting Standards.

- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.

- Conduct ledger scrutiny and ensure accuracy of financial records.

MIS, Budgeting & Financial Planning:

- Prepare periodic Management Information System (MIS) reports for management review.

- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.

- Analyze budget variances and provide actionable insights for improving financial performance.

- Support management with financial analysis and business decision-making.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:

- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, reconciliations, etc.).

- Prepare and file Income Tax Returns (ITR).

- Ensure timely deduction, deposit, and filing of TDS returns.

- Handle tax reconciliations and respond to notices from tax authorities.

- Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax regulations.

Audit & Compliance:

- Coordinate and manage Statutory Audits and Tax Audits.

- Liaise with statutory auditors, tax auditors, and internal auditors.

- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance requirements.

Inter-Company Accounting:

- Perform inter-company reconciliations and resolve outstanding balances.

- Ensure timely confirmation and settlement of inter-company transactions.

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate inter-company records.

Banking & Treasury:

- Liaise with banks for routine banking operations, documentation, and credit facilities.

- Prepare financial information required for banking arrangements, including working capital and loan documentation.

- Monitor cash flow and maintain banking relationships.

Compliance & Controls:

- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST regulations, and other statutory requirements.

- Strengthen internal financial controls and recommend process improvements.

- Maintain proper documentation and records for regulatory and audit purposes.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

- Expertise in GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliances.

- Experience in preparation of financial statements, MIS, budgeting, and financial projections.

- Hands-on experience in handling statutory and tax audits.

- Proficiency in inter-company reconciliations and month-end closing.

- Good understanding of banking documentation and treasury functions.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial reporting, etc.).

- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Tally, or similar accounting software.

- Familiarity with MS Office applications, especially Word and PowerPoint.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.

- Experience in handling end-to-end finance and accounting operations.

- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Prior experience in manufacturing, trading, FMCG, or corporate finance environments will be an added advantage.
