Job Title: Sales Director


Department: Sales & Business Development


Location: (City/Region)


Reports To: Managing Director / CEO

Position Overview:


The Sales Director is responsible for leading the overall sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and expanding the companys presence in the commercial interiors and workspace solutions market. This role requires deep industry understanding, strong enterprise relationships, and the ability to secure mid- to large-scale turnkey interior projects. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with excellent people leadership and negotiation skills, capable of building high-performing teams and long-term customer partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth:


- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet annual revenue, profitability, and market expansion goals.


- Identify emerging market trends, opportunities, and competitive threats in the commercial interiors sector.


- Drive acquisition of new business across corporate offices, co-working, retail, hospitality, industrial, and institutional segments.


2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:


- Build and nurture strong relationships with CXOs, real estate heads, architects, PMCs, and workplace consultants.


- Lead presentations, pitches, and negotiations for high-value fit-out & design-build projects.


- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities and ensure high conversion ratios.


3. Team Leadership:


- Manage, mentor, and expand the sales & business development team across regions.


- Set clear targets, KPIs, and performance metrics; ensure consistent achievement.


- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and client-centricity.


4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:


- Work closely with Design, Estimation, Project, Procurement, and Delivery teams to ensure smooth execution of awarded projects.


- Ensure proposals and BOQs are aligned with client expectations and company profitability goals.


- Support marketing with campaign strategies, brand positioning, and digital presence.


5. Commercial & Contractual Oversight:


- Guide the team in preparing competitive commercial proposals and tender submissions.


- Review contracts, pricing strategies, and ensure compliance with company standards.


- Mitigate risks through due diligence and project evaluation.


6. Reporting & Business Intelligence:


- Provide regular sales forecasts, MIS, pipeline reports, and competitor analysis to leadership.


- Leverage CRM tools to track opportunities, conversions, and client interactions.


Required Qualifications & Skills:


Academic & Experience Requirements:


- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.


- 16+ years of experience in commercial interiors / design & build / fit-out industry.


- Proven experience leading sales teams and achieving annual revenue targets above 50200 Cr (or region-specific).


Industry Expertise:


- Strong understanding of office interiors, corporate fit-outs, turnkey contracting, and project lifecycle.


- Network of corporate clients, architects, PMCs, IPCs, and landlords.


Core Skills:


- High-level negotiation, strategic planning, and stakeholder management.


- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building capabilities.


- Ability to handle complex sales cycles and long project timelines.


- Leadership mindset with team-building capabilities.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):


- Annual revenue and gross margin achievement.


- Pipeline strength and conversion ratio.


- Client acquisition and retention rate.


- Team performance, growth, and productivity.


- Repeat business and strategic partnerships established.
