Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Channel Manager - Modern Trade to spearhead our growth within the Nigerian market and potentially other international territories. This pivotal role involves developing and executing strategies to maximize sales and market share through modern trade channels. You will be responsible for managing key accounts, building strong relationships with retailers, and ensuring optimal product placement and promotional execution. This role collaborates closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to achieve business objectives. Your efforts will directly impact our brand visibility, sales revenue, and overall market position within the competitive FMCG landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement channel-specific strategies for modern trade in Nigeria and potentially other international markets to achieve sales targets and market share growth.
- Manage and nurture relationships with key accounts in the modern trade channel to ensure customer satisfaction and drive business growth.
- Negotiate trade agreements and promotional plans with retailers to maximize product visibility and sales performance.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and challenges in the modern trade channel.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute effective promotional campaigns and product launches in modern trade outlets.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize channel strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all channel activities to maintain ethical and professional standards.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to maximize ROI on channel investments.
- Train and mentor field sales teams on modern trade best practices to enhance their effectiveness in the channel.
Required Skillset:
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful channel management strategies within the modern trade environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in key account management, negotiation, and sales performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of the FMCG industry and the dynamics of the modern trade channel in Nigeria and potentially other international markets.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize channel performance.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve targets.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Adaptable to working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
