Chaayos - Sourcing Head

Sourcing Head (8-16 yrs)

Role Overview

The Head - Sourcing will lead end-to-end procurement and sourcing strategy for Chaayos, covering agri products, packaging materials, CAPEX, and raw materials. This role will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards, supply continuity, and alignment with business growth through strong planning and vendor partnerships, while also supporting future outsourcing initiatives and innovation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

- Lead sourcing strategy for agri commodities, packaging, and raw materials across all caf and central kitchen operations

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors to ensure quality and cost competitiveness

- Drive long-term contracts, negotiations, and supplier consolidation

2. CAPEX Procurement

- Manage sourcing of CAPEX items including caf equipment, machinery, furniture, and store setup materials

- Optimize procurement cost while maintaining quality and timelines for new store launches and upgrades

3. Demand Planning & S&OP

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning)

- Align sourcing plans with demand forecasting and business expansion plans

- Ensure accurate inventory planning to avoid stock-outs or overstocking

4. Cost Optimization & Budgeting

- Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives through negotiations and alternate sourcing

- Monitor commodity trends (especially agri products) to mitigate price fluctuations

- Own procurement budgets and deliver savings targets

5. Vendor Management & Development

- Build strong relationships with key suppliers and distributors

- Ensure vendor performance through defined KPIs (quality, cost, delivery timelines)

- Develop backup suppliers and reduce dependency risks

6. Supply Chain Coordination

- Work closely with logistics, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply

- Ensure timely availability of materials across all outlets and kitchens

7. Quality & Compliance

- Ensure all sourced materials meet food safety and quality standards

- Maintain compliance with regulatory and company procurement policies

8. Outsourcing & Strategic Partnerships

- Support and drive outsourcing initiatives for warehousing, manufacturing plants, or other supply chain functions as required

- Evaluate and onboard third-party partners, ensuring cost efficiency, scalability, and service quality

- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth transition and management of outsourced operations

9. Collaboration with NPD (New Product Development)

- Partner closely with the NPD team to support product innovation and new launches

- Identify cost-effective sourcing solutions for new products without compromising quality

- Ensure sourcing agility to support rapid experimentation and scale-up of new offerings

Key Requirements

- 8-12+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement (QSR, FMCG, Food Industry preferred)

- Strong experience in agri sourcing, packaging materials, and CAPEX procurement

- Hands-on exposure to S&OP, demand planning, and inventory management

- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and cost optimization skills

- Strong analytical mindset with ability to track market trends and data
