Job Summary

A Team Manager for Outsourced Accounting Services leads a team handling clients' daily financial ops (AP/AR, payroll, month-end close, reporting), manages client relationships to be a trusted advisor, ensures compliance with GAAP/IFRS/local regs, mentors staff, oversees internal controls, and drives process improvements, often using specific accounting software to deliver integrated, high-quality finance functions remotely.

Job Summary:

To lead and manage a team delivering comprehensive accounting and finance services to a portfolio of outsourced clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service delivery while fostering strong client relationships and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Relationship Management:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their business, needs, and strategic goals.

- Build "Trusted Advisor" relationships by providing timely, relevant financial insights and advice.

- Manage client expectations and resolve issues proactively.

Service Delivery & Operations:

- Oversee daily financial operations, including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.

- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, preparing accurate financial statements and reports.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Supervise, mentor, and coach accounting staff, supporting their professional growth.

- Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback.

- Ensure team adherence to firm quality, risk, and internal control procedures.

Process Improvement & Strategy:

- Assess and recommend improvements to clients' internal accounting processes, systems, and controls.

- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and relevant software.

- Assist with engagement planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA/CA preferred.

- Proven experience in outsourced accounting, controllership, or similar role.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and project management tools.

- Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
