Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller to own and build the finance function at Cent Health. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can operate hands-on across accounting, compliance, treasury, and financial planning - while also partnering closely with the founders on strategic financial decisions.

The ideal candidate is a qualified finance professional with a strong grip on Indian statutory compliance, financial reporting, and startup-stage financial operations, who thrives on building structure and process from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis:

- Own end-to-end financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting

- Prepare monthly and quarterly MIS reports and dashboards for leadership

- Drive cost optimization and margin improvement initiatives

- Support fundraising with financial models, investor reporting, and due diligence

Accounting & Compliance:

- Ensure accurate and timely book closures - monthly, quarterly, and annual

- Oversee statutory compliance including GST, TDS, PF, PT, and ROC filings

- Manage relationships with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies

- Ensure adherence to accounting standards (Ind AS) and strong internal controls

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

- Manage working capital, cash flow planning, and banking relationships

- Oversee vendor payments, payroll disbursement, and reconciliations

- Monitor and optimize cash burn in line with runway planning

Audit & Risk Management:

- Lead statutory, internal, and tax audits end-to-end

- Strengthen internal financial controls and risk mitigation frameworks

- Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings

Team & Stakeholder Management:

- Build and mentor a growing finance & accounts team

- Partner closely with the CEO, founders, and cross-functional leaders on financial strategy

- Liaise with investors, banks, and external stakeholders as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

- Strong command of accounting principles, Ind AS, and Indian statutory compliance (GST, TDS, PF, PT, ROC)

- Hands-on experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and MIS reporting

- Proven experience managing statutory, internal, and tax audits

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- High attention to detail and an ownership mindset

Experience & Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in finance & accounts, with at least 2 years in a leadership/controllership role

- CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) qualification preferred

- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment strongly preferred

- Experience in healthcare, health-tech, or consumer-facing startups is a plus

Tools & Systems:

- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar)

- Strong command of MS Excel / Google Sheets for financial modeling

- Familiarity with payroll and compliance tools is a plus

- Timeliness and accuracy of monthly financial closures

- Compliance adherence - zero statutory defaults

- Cash flow and working capital efficiency

- Audit closure timelines
