Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Advertising Sales Manager to join our team in Mumbai.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving significant revenue growth by strategically selling advertising space across our diverse portfolio of global digital media assets.
This includes our prestigious IBSi FinTech Journal (International & India editions), our high-traffic global FinTech news portal, and our rapidly expanding podcast series.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in digital media advertising sales within leading business publications, a strong understanding of the FinTech and IT sectors, and the ability to operate independently with confidence and strategic acumen.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Revenue Generation: Drive aggressive revenue growth by identifying, prospecting, and securing new advertising clients for all IBSi digital media assets.
Product Sales: Lead the sales efforts for:
- Magazine advertisements in both the International and India editions of the IBSi FinTech Journal.
- Advertising and sponsorship opportunities on our global FinTech news portal (1+ million annual hits).
- Sponsorships and advertising slots across our extensive podcast series (40+ podcasts/month on major platforms like Spotify).
- Client Acquisition: Target and engage with leading Indian and Global FinTech and IT companies, understanding their marketing objectives and positioning IBSi's media solutions effectively.
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed advertising revenue targets.
- This includes market analysis, client segmentation, and tailored proposal development.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers (e.g., Marketing Heads, CMOs, Sales Leaders) within target organizations.
- Proposal Development: Create compelling and customized advertising proposals and presentations that clearly articulate the value proposition and ROI of IBSi's media assets.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and client needs within the FinTech and broader IT advertising landscape to identify new opportunities.
- Independent Operation: Operate as a self-starter, demonstrating the ability to work independently, manage a robust sales pipeline, and drive the sales cycle from lead generation to closure with minimal supervision.
- Reporting: Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 7-10 years of proven and successful experience in selling magazine and other advertising in the digital media space.
- Industry Background: Direct experience with leading business publications or digital media platforms such as Forbes India, Business Today, Business World, Fortune India, Outlook Business, or other prominent digital media houses.
- Sales Track Record: A demonstrated and successful advertising sales track-record, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Confidence & Proactiveness: High level of confidence, a proactive self-starter mentality, and the ability to take initiative.
- Autonomy: Proven ability to operate independently and manage a sales territory effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex value propositions clearly and persuasively.
- Academic Background: A strong academic background (Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field).
- Domain Interest: A strong interest in and understanding of the fast-growing Indian and global FinTech sector is highly desirable
