Position Summary:
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) Modern Trade will be responsible for driving sales growth, execution excellence, and strategic account management across modern trade chains within the assigned region. The role requires effective team management, retailer engagement, and cross-functional coordination to ensure availability, visibility, and market share gains for all key SKUs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Target Management
- Own and deliver primary and secondary sales targets for the assigned modern trade accounts.
- Ensure the achievement of volume, value, and growth objectives as per business plans.
- Drive new product launches, channel-specific promotions, and performance tracking.
2. Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of Sales Executives / Key Account Officers, ensuring alignment with sales strategies.
- Conduct regular reviews, field visits, and capability-building sessions for the team.
3. Account Management & Execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with modern trade chains and store-level
stakeholders.
- Ensure execution of visibility elements, promotional activities, and share-of-shelf targets.
4. Operational & Inventory Control
- Coordinate with supply chain and distributors for inventory planning and replenishment.
- Ensure healthy stock levels and minimize out-of-stock and expired inventory issues.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze sales trends, account performance, and market intelligence to identify opportunities.
- Generate regular reports on performance metrics and suggest actionable insights.
