Role Overview :
As a Category Manager at , you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies to maximize profitability and market share within assigned product categories. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective execution of category plans. This role directly impacts the company's bottom line by optimizing product assortment, pricing, promotions, and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with overall business objectives to drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis and consumer research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats, informing category decisions.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure consistent supply of high-quality products to meet customer demand.
- Optimize product assortment and pricing strategies to maximize sales and margin, while maintaining a competitive edge.
- Develop and execute promotional plans and marketing campaigns to drive product awareness and sales, collaborating with the marketing team.
- Monitor category performance, analyze key metrics, and identify areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Manage the category budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with vendors to ensure alignment with business objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful category strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms with vendors and build strong relationships.
- Strong vendor management skills, including sourcing, selection, and performance management.
- Excellent budgeting and financial analysis skills, with the ability to manage a P&L effectively.
- Deep understanding of pricing strategies and the ability to optimize pricing to maximize sales and margin.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Bachelor's degree/PG in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
