Role Overview:
We are looking for a data-driven Category Manager to lead inventory planning, vendor management, and category growth. This role sits at the intersection of supply chain, analytics, and business strategy, focusing on improving product availability, optimizing working capital, and driving category performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end category performance including sales, margins, and inventory
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships (negotiation, commercials, assortment planning)
- Drive assortment optimization and category expansion strategies
- Plan and execute promotions and pricing strategies
- Analyze data to identify consumer trends and demand patterns
- Ensure inventory efficiency (stock levels, freshness, minimizing stock-outs)
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, product/tech)
- Forecast demand and plan procurement accordingly
Key Skills Required:
- Strong experience in FMCG category management / merchandising
- Vendor management and negotiation expertise
- Good understanding of inventory planning and working capital optimization
- Strong analytical skills (Excel VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, forecasting)
- Ability to interpret data and translate insights into business actions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
