Category Manager - eCommerce

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Category Manager to drive growth in our FMCG segment. The individual will be responsible for managing category assortment, supplier relationships, pricing strategies, and promotional activities. This role involves deep market analysis to ensure competitive pricing, assortment decisions, and optimal category servicing frequencies.

General Responsibilities:

1. Develop and optimize the FMCG category assortment and pricing strategies.

2. Plan and execute promotional activities to drive category growth.

3. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships for better terms and service.

4. Use data analysis to adjust pricing, promotions, and assortment based on market trends.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals.

Product Curation & Merchandising:

Build and manage a compelling selection aligned with customer preferences and market demand. Ensure product listings are optimized for visibility and conversions. Plan and execute promotional strategies to boost sales and customer engagement.

Market Benchmarking & Trends:

Stay ahead of market trends and competitive landscape to refine assortment strategies. Implement competitive pricing models. Identify and adopt new trends relevant to the category.

Data & Analytics:

Use data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities and enhance customer experience. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track category performance. Develop monthly replenishment plans to maintain optimal stock levels.

Vendor Management:

Negotiating with suppliers for better pricing and terms.

Operations:

- Manage day-to-day category operations and ensure seamless processes

- Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to oversee inventory management

- Collaborate with product team and internal teams for appropriate merchandising and app features, to boost conversion

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree is a plus

- Experience: 1+ years of experience in category management, vendor management, or sourcing / P&L experience in ecommerce or retail

- Expertise in product selection, price negotiation, and supplier relationship management

- Proficiency in data analysis and attention to detail

- Team management experience

- Prior experience of meeting or exceeding business targets
